Just like every other message like this i get, its getting ignored, if people dont know how to handle basic communication skills, they shouldnt be allowed to use chat clients at all $0.02

I think the problem is that it's likely to be spam. I used to get those all the time and everytime I'd reply with a um..hello? SPAMtastic things would happen

LOL I get those all the time, but its mostly just people who are a bit shy or maybe have english as a second language. I just answer them saying "how can I help you?" that usually starts a conversation.

Yeah, some people say hello just to see if you're there before typing out a bunch of stuff that might not be read. If nothing else just write "Hello" back and then see what happens.
My favorite IM convos are the ones that go like this...
