Hello, I am new here.

Hi everyone. I am new here. :bow:

My name is Jennifer and I am not new to the business, but I am new here. Recently I've been trying to expand my "gay portfolio" so to speak and I thought I'd come here and learn some first hand experience. :grin:

So if you can sum it up in a nutshell (or even a clamshell!), tell me what is different about marketing gay sites rather than straight sites (besides the obvious differences). I want to do this right and I want to learn from the best.

Help a sista out here. :bow:

Welcome to the board... always good to see a new face around and mostly a new designer :) Don't forget to introduce yourself also in the design section, which is

There are some differences between straight and gay designs.
For example it's easier for me to make gay sites than straight ones as i know the vocabulary. We can see the difference when a straight person makes a gay website... It's like he's reading a book without understanding.

Well there are actually quite a few differences between the straight and gay market place primarily that you shouldnt market to gay surfers with the mindset that gay is a niche, it is a market unto itself with different wants than that of its straight counter part.

Thank you very much guys......yes it's the terminology I need to learn. I was submitting a gallery today and I don't know is it a "hunk" a "stud" or a "muscle man". :grin:

Is it "taboo" for a straight webmaster to push gay sites? Am I doing something bad that I'm ignorant to? Please enlighten.

I really just wanted to know if what I was doing is acceptable and I'm not stepping on any toes. I'm not looking for a grand parade and a red carpet rolled out for me. Hopefully my prescence is not offending anyone. :)
