How Many Hits Do You Send To A Site Before Deciding...

If you are going to pull links or not?

I have a site ive been testing out from a fairly new PPS sponsor the last couple of days, so far im at 5k hits with no sales and im going to be pulling my links in a few.

I just wondered how much traffic the rest of you sent to a single sponsors site before deciding whether to pull all links or keep sending traffic?

I have to admit, i typically only send 1500-2000 hits as a general rule of thumb but this site is owned by a friend of mine and i thought id send some extra just in case they were having a 'bad' run of it but even then, 5k wasted hits is 5k i could have sent to someone else, or my own sites.

Your thoughts, when is enough traffic sent to a single site to warrant keeping links up or taking them down?

I don't have a set formula as I factor in time of year, the kind of site, relationship with the sponsor, how new to the industry they are, etc. etc.

Same here. I tend to promote a new site for a week or so and then take a good look.

In the same vein, how long do you send promotional images to sites that do not provide traffic that converts? We have been cutting way back on affiliates who send traffic that does not convert. We provide images and video previews but want to keep the material valuable to the site owners who send the kind of traffic that does convert and believe it dilutes its value when it appears in too many places. Sometimes it just isn't a good match.

A couple thousand in gay niches.

About 5k in straight.

Thats enough for any test.

Sometimes, tho, I'm not "just testing", I'm seriously interested in making sales to that sponsor for whatever reasons - then take it to 10k.

After 10k, well, they suck, there is something wrong with their power to convert, gotta dump them.

Generally I'll give a new site 1500 visits to make that first sale.
