as i am working to complete my non porn muscle site, i start to wonder if staying with an adult processor is such a great idea. aside from the mastercard-required porn sentence that appears on the join pages whenever a mastercard is input, i'm sure there are other issues.
any input on this issue is gratefully appreciated.
Well most of the processors that do adult, charge the same price. So of course you do not want to be charged 5% on more when you can easily be charged anywhere from about 2.19% or so.
Some people like it though, having to use one processor. But that can get sticky at times becaus eoms companies will not differentiate between the two businesses.
Most gateways use First Data as their transaction processor (LinkPoint, Authorize.net, Verisign's Payflow, Yahoo for example). First Data has partnerships with a lot of the large ISOs and acquirers (Chase, Paymentech, Cardservice) and they do process probably 2 out of every 3 transactions worldwide in some form or another.
i am not unhappy with epoch. i am concerned about having those required porn links that mastercard pops up on the join page of our 100% porn-free site. also, if that porn tax comes into effect, using an adult processor for non adult transactions could end up causing some confusion.
Very true. I have learned not to mix the two businesses no matter what. Not too sure if I am "in the closet" on that or not :) - but I figure, business is business. And most people in business want to make money. You do what you think is always best and hope that it will work.
I would try away from any type of site that would potentially be negative towards your website
From what i recall of them when we used them several years ago, WorldPay was good to us.
They even had a non adult dialer solution if i remember correctly :thumbsup:
