I just signed up with MojoHost, because at InterNext we heard that MojoHost is teaming up with the premier one of the UK Age Verification Law services, to make it easier for websites to comply.

If you're thinking UK Age Verification is government oppression and suppression, just mull this over: No more wasted hits and bandwidth on Kids and Bots. Neither of which spend money, and one of which might be Pirating your content.
Good prices for a VPS though I'm not looking to move at present. Is there a link for more info about what they're doing regarding the age verification? Which I think is going to come as a huge surprise to most of the UK population this spring!

The service that MojoHost is working with is www.AVSecure.com Stephen Winyard.
I first met Stephen in Berlin at the XBIZ show there in September.
I am hearing that no matter which service you choose to go with, once the UK Citizen and/or his device is verified, all the rest of the services will access the same database or whatever method is agreed upon. Therefore, picking one service fits all.
Murray is from the BBFC. He told me that this is UK and Territories, which will extend to Australia and Canada.
Remember, this is NOT just for UK webmasters, this is for Webmasters for any website in the world, accessible by UK websurfers from an IP address within the UK (and Territories Australia and Canada).

As I understand it, sites that don't implement the verification could potentially be blocked by UK ISPs or be denied the power to bill UK citizens. Whether this is all going to work in reality I don't know.
The UK's attempt to regulate online video through the quango ATVOD was a flop, though not for the fat cats managing it. It's all been brought under the media regulator OFCOM now with a light touch rather than a sledgehammer.
If anyone wants to restrict content that UK visitors see it's easy to do using includes if you use Cloudflare as they add a geo tag to the headers.
This is the code to do it with server side includes. You could show two different pages. I have turned off two of my sites to the UK.

I got many of my sites moved to MojoHost. They did most of the heavy lifting!
This was the UK Age Verification panel at TES Lisbon Cascais last weekend. The fellow with the beard in the middle is Barry from the BBFC, the Regulator. Business card above.
The other speakers represent the different business cards posted above. The fellow with the shaved head on the right is from Mind Geek's Age Verification product. Mind Geek claims to control 50% of worldwide adult content and traffic.
The fellow next to him. on the far right, is Stephen Winyard, of AV Secure.

I think there are big worries in the UK population that their personal data - used for age verification - will be hacked. Until the British government figures that out, the people will win out.
