Writing Your Sales Copy Using Trigger Words.

Im constantly being asked about text ads and how to create an effective ad. More often than not, the same people who have been asking these questions do have really good text in place but, the ads arent working because they arent using the correct words to describe the sites they are promoting, they lack something so simple that they are so often forgot by adult webmasters, trigger words.

What Is A Trigger Word?

In marketing, a trigger word, is a word (or phrase) that makes the reader desire your product, and/or words that makes them want to act. For example, if you are selling an ebony gay site, instead of saying 'ebony gay' you would substitue those the word 'ebony' for 'black' as this word tends to pull much better clicks than the previous word. Likewise, if you are marketing an uncut site, you would want to include the words 'uncut dick' or 'uncut cock' in the ad copy somewhere.

How To choose Trigger Words?

Choosing trigger words perhaps isnt as easy as it could be, most people i know that use trigger words effectively have traffic sources they can and have used to test how effective certain words are on certain types of sites and, traffic sources. That being said, trigger words need to cause an emotional reaction in your ad copy reader, therefore, it stands to reason that the more 'direct' the wording you use, the better reaction it is going to get from the reader, in the case of marketing porn, more clicks, resulting in (hopefully) more sales.

Niche Specific Trigger Words.

As with any aspect of marketing adult sites, there are certain words that work best on certain types of site, for example, i have found that 'youth' works well on twink sites as does 'boy' however, over the past couple of years those words have started to be frowned upon so i have opted to use an alternative to them which i have included in the examples below:

Ebony -------- Black
Foreskin -------- Uncut
Heterosexual -------- Straight
Mature -------- Older

As you can see from those 8 examples, the trigger words arent that far away from wording that we might normally use to describe the various niches however, by ensuring we use these words or, combinations of them on our sites marketing efforts, we can at least ensure that our surfers start to click our links.

Trigger Words - Overview.

When all is said and done, a lot of us would rather not spend our time writing the ad copy to use on our sites but, by spending a little time to think about the words we use and, more importantly, the contest we use them, we can actually increase the effectiveness of our sales copy tenfold. The next time you submit a gallery or build a free site in any of the 8 niches i mentioned above, make sure you use one of the trigger words for that niche, i guarantee you that you will notice an increase in traffic from your gallery or site.
