Despite the tales of doom and gloom being posted on numerous adult industry message boards in respect of the new proposals to change the way the current 2257 law is actually written there are only a very limited amount of actually hard 'facts' about these proposed changes. However, with that said, it would still seem that many webmasters are believe the 'hype' being told them and being read by them on the forums of the adult industry. For the record, I am not an attorney nor do I pretend to be one, keyboard or otherwise but this article does contain the facts that are present to us all at this time.
Fact 1.
NOBODY, whether lawyers, forum moderators, paysite owners, content providers, hosting companies or, board whores know anything more than you or I currently do surrounding the proposed 2257 changes. For anyone to tell you they are stating 'the law' as to what you should be doing if these proposed changes go through, kindly turn around to them and tell them they are speaking out of their ass.
Fact 2.
The proposed changes HAVEN'T been written into law yet, many webmasters and companies were predicting that on the 24th August 2005, these 2257 proposals would become written in stone, the fact of the matter is that on the 24th August 2005, the deadline for public comment on the proposed changes was met meaning that further public comment would not be considered.
Fact 3.
There is no need to change the way you are running your business at the present time. No laws pertaining to online pornography have been changed and no new laws have been entered into the law books. Again, anyone telling you otherwise is speaking out of their ass. Should you be looking for alternatives at the present time should these proposals come into effect? Certainly but do not believe 'the sky is falling' it is still right up there and as far as I can see at this moment in time, it is still blue in color and crack free.

As you can see from the above 4 FACTS about the new proposals being put forward by the DOJ (Department Of Justice) there is no reason why at the present time, we cant all go about peddling smut as we have done so for the last god knows how many years and, until any such proposals do get passed into law, remember one thing, until these proposals are added and, until they get tried in court, we are no better or worse off now than we were yesterday, last month, or last year. Should we be worried about these proposed changes? Yes.
