Help Wanted SUPPORT NOC - San Diego (or remote)

It's been awhile since we have an opening at our office in San Diego.. but we it's time..

$15 to $25 / hr based on experience and certification.

Skills Requirements:
- Moderate to advanced skills with Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux / CentOS)
- Basic to advanced skills with PHP and HTML
- Must know basic SSH, FTP, and DNS

Other Skills:
- Work with monitoring tools (Nagios, Cacti, MRTG, etc) and support ticketing systems (Kayako Support Suite)
- Ability to work directly with customers and end-users in a professional manner
- CCNA preferred but not required
- Excellent written and verbal skills - English
- Enjoys learning in a company that values personal growth and knowledge
- Proficient in typing, spelling, and grammar
- Ability to follow procedures and document new processes
- Have the ability to work under pressure
- Attention to detail


Daily Tasks:
- Provide front line support for customer calls, support tickets, and online chat
- Update servers and scripts
- Update Plesk and cPanel web control panels
- Monitor security and network traffic
- Send out clients notices (spam, SSL certs, security updates, etc)
- Proactively monitor the operation of servers in multiple data centers
- Assist with internal technical operations and projects
- Escalate issues following documented procedures
- Manage incidents from beginning through resolution, including customer notification
- Work on assigned projects as needed.

Other requirements - NOT REQUIRED but preferred:
- Ability to write ad-hoc Bash scripts to automate processes and repetitive manual tasks
- Knowledge of IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), Snort, Wireshark, etc
- Knowledge and understanding of Cisco ASA firewalls with IPS (Intrusion Prevention Systems)
- Knowledge and understanding of Cisco layer 2 and 3 switches, routing, network topologies
