I never think of Bear Men as "lazy" and "Fat".

Bear men are big uber-masculine hairy men.. beards and big smiles and stuff... and kinda cuddly.

Sort of like a big Teddy Bear, which is pretty much where that comes from.

And if you don't get the "Woof" thing, then you understand how the rest of us feel about 21 year olds who think they know it all listening to shitty music by Madonna, wearing over priced cheese-cloth shirts and thinking they're all that and a pack of matches because they're kind girly and spindly. Or you're Dawgy. One of the two.

Okay, let me bring a bear's perspective to this discussion, but first ...

I don't happen to think that the picture provided is very representative of a cub. I think he looks more like a Circuit Boy. I don't think he's got enough muscle or fur to be classifed as a muscle bear cub and that cowboy hat just screams Circuit Boy. He's hot, but he's not a cub.

Generally speaking, bears are bigger in size, have body hair, and probably facial hair. But I bear doesn't have to be overweight to be a bear. I hesitate to say that they're older, I hesitate to even say that they're in their 30s or 40s because I've seen plenty of guys in their 20s who are classified as bears.

Think of Al Borland from ToolTime, perfect bear. But I would equally say that porn star Chris Steele is a bear, but a sub-class called Muscle Bear. Chris Steele is also definitely classified as a Daddy.

Other bears: Dom Deluise, the big guy on Redneck TV, Dr. Phil (not overweight), the crazy Arabic guy on Whoopie's show (is that still on?) Stone Cold Steve Austin. Porn Stars I'd consider bears are: Eric Evans, Steve Parker, TitPig.

All of the guys on this page are bears of the bigger variety. I really only see one guy who might be classified as a muscle bear.

Think of a chub as a hairless bear. (That's CHUB not CUB.) I think you definitely have to weigh over 300 pounds to be classified as a chub and most of the chubs on sites I've seen don't have much in the way of body hair.

Think of a cub as a younger bear, but again, be careful, I've definitely seen some 40 or 50-year-old guys I'd still call a cub. Cub's have a certain "cute" factor happening. Like the guy here http://www.universal-bear.com/furry-...cub/index.html although he doesnt' have body hair, he's got the cute and young thing happening. FYI, pictures of true cubs are hard to come by. Our own Don from Ounique would, I think, also be considered a cub. Jasun is definitely a good representation of a Muscle Cub. And I'm not just saying that because I deperately want to s— oh sorry, I digress. But if Jasun would post a better picture of himself, you get the idea. (Sorry dude, don't mean to put you on the spot.)

Otters and Wolves are new labels and both referring to lean, hairy guys. Again, there's an age classification: in the wild, otters tend to be playful, cute, and therefore young. Wolves are usually older, probably with some grey hair.

Generally speaking, just about any "bear" site produced by a largely straight program has very few bears. The mainstream adult biz hasn't got a clue what a bear is.

I hope this helps. Somehow, I think it'll just open this up for even more debate.

I'm just beginning my talent search for Muscle Bear Cubs, and since it's a new term, it's hard to find guys that fit. I was hoping he might fit, but at the same time I don't want to misrepresent if he really belongs in a different category.

Well... I thought D-bear would clear this up, since he is the expert... but I think some of his definitions may be too restrictive. But then again he is the expert. Maybe that's a huge reason why I have such a hard time selling my bear/cub sites.
