Anyone Using The Mambo CMS?

We're looking at a couple of different options for a new site we're going to be working on and Mambo came reccomended, has anyone here used it and got any feedback on the script?

Also, we've been told that VBPortal is a nice easy to use script too any feedback you had on that would be appreciated also

Funny you should bring that up. We just purchased a site that was in mambo and I have been researching it. Seems to be a pretty highly regarded cms in the open source community.

I know a few web developers that really seem to enjoy it. I have never been a fan of a CMS system myself - I still use Frontpage and actually consider Frontpage a CMS system to one extent.

You can also go to OpenSourceCMS and actually login to quite a few opensource projects that they have already installed for you to try out before you install them. Use the CMS Review link to see a full list with links to each one. Lot of good user commentary also on each page.

lee - i could be wrong, but i think mambo was the cms rvince found some security holes in. if you still have his icq, you could ask him if it was the one...

my site is all in mambo. I just redesigned it about 6 weeks ago and got a huge response from it. I have far more bookmarkers now.
