    Here's a couple more:

    spyblaster
    http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

The above is PREVENTIVE, as it runs scanning incoming and blocks it. Even spybot recommends it and keeps telling me too. BLoody impertinent software:whip:

    trojan scan online
    http://www.windowsecurity.com/trojanscan/

This is a must scan site for me. In addition if you follow the links on it for the free a2squared program, you will be well pleased. This program is a much more robust anti spyware, malicious code program that is free, updated frequently and runs with hijack this as well. It is super for getting stuff both spybot & adaware miss.

    trend micro online scan
    http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

    panda online scan
    http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/

Both are online scans. Just in case your own gets targeted these do a good job and also clean as they find stuff. Panda's activescan is also quite popular these days and very comprehensive.

I would also recommend this forum if you do get a virus/trojan.
    http://www.security-forums.com/forum/index.php

Hope its not out of line to post it, but these guys offer free help in getting your computer clean when you get a really nasty trojan or virus. I have had to use them and it saved me big bucks as they helped get the job done instead of having to pay a techie to do it. They take you step by step through the whole process.

Also to any fellow canadians who use Shaw Cable. (I think Rogers Cable also has it, but can't be positive about that) Is to get their free firewall & spyware system. Its called F-Secure and includes the PRO version of Adaware.

Dreamweaver > this is a must editor least for me. It is one of the few high end products that in my opinion was truly worth the price.

I would also recommend something else that is a must have I think. We all have sites hosted somewhere, but do we really know how many times our sites could be down? offline?

There is a free service, requires a link back only, that sends you emails when your site is down & another when its up. I believe you can have the emails forwarded to cell phones text messaging but don't quote me on that either.

    http://www.printfhelloworld.com/index.html

The lady who runs this is super and like I said, she only requires a link back and it really does work unobtrusively. Lots of ways to insure your sites are up.

Do tell her I sent you too, so she'll know how you heard, and no I am not getting paid for this.

    Just my additions.

I'm just going to copy and paste each link into a Word Doc. That way they can all be in one place and I can click on the links when I'm ready.

Okay, this isn't software but it is the most usefull website I know if you do international business.

    The World Time Server

It will tell you what time it is in any part of the world at any time. There is a bit of freeware on the site that will Sync your computer's clock with the Atomic Clock so it will never be even a fraction of a second off, if you so desire, so it sort of fits on this thread. Heh heh.

You have no idea how helpful that will be to me. I have thousands of mp3s and photos that I would really love to fix up. Thanks.

    Hey Lee,

You should find a place to post these things in a permanent place on your site, like an advice section for new webmasters, as well as in threads. A lot of this stuff is invaluable, so it would be great to have access to it one specified section for quick and easy reference.

FTP Manager Lite is a better freeware FTP and SFTP client software. The clean interface is super easy to use. It will perform your files transfers quickly and efficiently. It is one of the best freeware FTP clients that also supports FXP.
