Hunk vs Stud vs Frat

Hi fellow webmasters :-)

I’d like to know what the generally accepted definition of these marketing terms are:“hunk”, “stud”, and “fratboy”. Are the terms basically interchangeable or are there differences?

Also, is “frat” or “fratboy” a term that will mostly only have meaning to North American surfers?

To me...

Hunk is about the BODY - He is a HUNK

Stud is about the BODY And the DICK - Like a STUD Horse - You keep the stronger animals for breeding -

And the whole Frat boy thing - I would think anyone within the age range of 19 to 24 and has a slight prep look to them

a hunk is on the muscular side, not skinny, not average. also in good shape and a hottie.

stud i've seen used as either a hunk with sexual prowess or just a guy with plenty of fucking prowess.

a fratboy is generally 18 to 23, athletic with a little muscle on him but not too much, and usually fairly clean cut. or else a guy who actually is in a fraternity.

To add to hunk, back in the day, I would have called someone like Tom Selleck a hunk even though he didn't have an overly muscular body.

Also Eric Estrada, Sam Elliot and Patric Swayze were thought to be "Hunks"

thanks for this thread, I'm just getting to grips with all these gay terms.. The one that confuses me most is twink.. I thought it was a skinny teen lad, but some places i see muscley toned guys in their late 20s labelled as twinks, and fat guys... if anyone could clear the twink term up for me that'd be wicked

"hunk" and "stud" are generally interchangeable, but "fratboy" has very little to do with those terms. "hunk" and "stud" can mean anyone, not just some in college.

I think the definitions of the words have kind of changed through the years.

To me, both "hunk" and "stud" can be used when you are just talking about a hot guy.

"Hunky" does seem to be used more when talking about guys with muscles.

"Stud," however, can be used to talk about anyone who you think is sexy.

"Twink" is traditionally meant to refer to a young, kind of feminine acting boy with "twinkle"-esque features.

Matt's a fellow WWE fan, I see. Hunks, and Studs are a different definition in my book than most other guys.
All depends on your niche really.

I think were mixing up gay adult terms with regular terms.

Like 'Hunk' in the gay porn world is a muscular guy.
Where as 'Hunk' in the rest of the world can be any attractive fit guy.
