ICQ Exploit Making The Rounds

Please be advised that if you receive an ICQ from ANYONE going to a rapidshare.com URL that you do not want to click it.

I have received one this morning and noticed that the link was an .exe file thus didnt click it however, people who did happen to click the link, it appears they have been 'losing' their ICQ #'s and further messages have been sent using THEIR ICQ with this same exploit in it.

I beleive a couple of people that i know of have lost control of their ICQ because of this exploit so, if you are waiting to hear from anyone on the GWW Community by ICQ please be advised that these individuals might not be ignoring you, they just may no longer have your contact details.

Rapidshare is, and has been, a very common tool, used by the writers of, for spreading malicious code.

It's all part of that P2P thingy, as far as I am concerned!

Yes, I feel like a dirty whore, having to send messages to everyone on my ICQ list. I changed my password and made it really hard, so hopefully it should be okay. I'm going to guess someone is using some sort of code to get into people's accounts and send spam. I dunno. But nobody has gotten anything else from my ICQ since this happened.

And thank you American Idol, er IdolKnights. I found out about the same time you posted this. I'd much rather word get out that something's coming from my ICQ than people getting the links and clicking on them. You were looking out for me and for everyone else. You are to be commended. :heartu:
