Anyone Elses GWW Cookie Acting Weird?

It keeps showing me that threads i have read are 'new' was wondering if it was my laptop or if its a wider problem i need to fix up?

I get that all the time and have been getting that for awhile now. Months. I figured that's just how it was. Sometimes it marks em as read, sometimes they show up as new even though they're read.

Hmm weird, it should mark it as read the second you click out of the thread.

Can i ask what browser you are using please?

Firefox.

It will almost always mark it as read once I've read it. But then I come back like 20 minutes later (without having cleared cookies or anything in the interim) and a bunch of threads will appear as new again, though no new posts have been made in them. And they'll be that way for however long until I come back at some point later and it all looks fine again.

Any chance you could log out of GWW, clear your cookies for me and log in again? It looks like its possible a problem with the cookie trying to over-write itself in certain browsers.

I have the same problem with IE 7.0 on my windows XP...and also Safari for MAC OSX. FYI

IE6 here... I have cache problems sometimes where I'm not seeing new posts in threads until I hit refresh.

Same here ... hitting refresh will have the threads shown as read, otherwise I'm still seeing them as new, and that's been happening for some time now.

I have this issue...happens to me on a bunch of vbulletin boards though.

This might solve the problem, could those of you experiencing this issue please log out, clear your cookies and log back in and LMK if it still happens.

Thats what i was told to ask you to do by VBulletin.

If that doesnt help let me know and ill see what else can be done

Okay ive just extended the length of the GWW Cookie to 45 minutes in the hopes that this will resolve some of the issues.

In a couple of days im going to reduce it to 10 minutes to see if it is possibly a conflict in timing that is causing the thread viewed errors.
