Has Anyone Else Noticed This Trend In The Past Couple Of Years?

The one where sponsors are no longer using 'generic' sounding domain names for their paysites, even though there are plenty of generic sounding domains available?

For example, instead of using something like 'twinkpassions' or 'twinkflame' for a twink themed site, they are now using names such as 'hornytwinkfuckers' or 'randyyoungboys' etc.

I was just wondering why you folks thought this was happening more and more? Do you think it is due to wanting the sites name to be more readily (and easily) branded or could it be something as simple as the site owners wanting to make their site names more 'in your face' to appeal to affiliates?

What are your thoughts on this trend over the past couple of years?

    Regards,

    Lee

its easier to make a brand name out of a non-generic URL and I believe site owners are realizing the importance of brand names, especially with good affiliate programs.

i agree with this and perhaps they are also looking for something featuring a few keywords they would like to target ? or they simply want the url to clearly signal what they feel their site has to offer ..

this leads to longer but also keyword richer urls ... i might be off the beat here though and it wouldnt be the first time.

I think it's easier to brand when you do have a special word in the name. Something to remember that goes beyond the topic.

When I saw your example, my first thought was, sure they try to SEO for their search term. (Well, ok, my first thought was young + boys in the same breath?!?!? )

The flip side of that is your site's content better do an extremely good job of reflecting your site's name/URL or else it's going to come across looking quite stupid.

You might just be limiting yourself to a very narrow type of content and even the slightest variation will make your site look illegitimate.

There's nothing worse than a "hairybearystudmen.com" URL with some only lightly tufted early 20's guy in the tour, or a "slimyoungtwinkholes.com" site with an occasional 25yo video tossed in.
