Everyone ele better be ready, it's going to be 2007 and we will all have clean slates but I know not for long.

I really do miss the MGM. Too bad "The Stardust", my all time favorite place, is gone now
I will be in Vegas from the 10th through the 18th. I had thought about scalping the room reservation I have at THE Hotel but now I am having second thoughts--I think I will just stay there instead of taking the incredible deal at the South Pointe [huge rooms, 42" plasma TV's, and $99 a night but 2 miles south of Mandalay Bay, fine if you have a car though]
This year I think will be calmer than previous years. Just a feeling~

Keeping you out of trouble is easier than getting you out of trouble!
I was hoping to go but alas, it doesn't look like I'll be able to make it.
I had been going to InterNext for the past few years... But, after last year and the very small turnout, we won't be going...
I took a look at the list of exhibitors this time and it appears the hay days of the event may be gone? But, I'll hope for it to change, as it is the closest show to us.
We're considering the Florida InterNext, can anyone shed some light on how that one goes?
This year will be my first time in Vegas for the expo. Looking forward to it, and if any of you have any tips on how to make it more productive, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
If it is your first time, make sure you take plenty of business cards! And ask for business cards from people you meet. Carry a pen or pencil, and write a short note on the back of the cards, because at the end of the show you realistically should have over 100 cards and you will not remember any details.
After the show, write courtesy emails to people that gave you cards, and try to personalize them. Don't make an email that just says "It was great meeting you at the show! Please contact me if you need _____" without any details because it will come across like insincere spam. Be specific, like "It was great meeting you at Qfest last Friday at THE Hotel! I really appreciated you and ___ taking the time to talk with me"
Do not get drunk. Do not use mood-altering substances. You are going to make your first impression on a lot of people, and if I meet you while you are falling down drunk or stoned out of the bejesus I will write you off. Veterans of the industry, that are THEMSELVES drunk or high, will write you off. It is a double standard, but that is just the rule you must live by. Stay sober.
Look at the seminar schedule and see what you think will benefit you. Between seminars and hitting the show floor, your days should be filled. Go to parties and suites--with business cards -- and stick around for awhile at each one.
It is going to be your second or third show where you will realize real return on your show-going investment, but the first one is very important! Good luck. I hope to see you there!
