What's up Doc? So glad to see you here, but really sad The Board Asshat was the first to greet you.

Just wanted to welcome you and tell the members here, that working with you is a pleasure, even when it doesn't work out 100%. From my personal experience, The Doc's E-mails are answered promptly, and he's a a blast to talk to on the phone. His sites are beautiful, and I have no idea where he gets all his hotties from.

    Basement Laboritory. perhaps? :fool:

I'd mention how cute he is, but that would be gratuitous.

Once again welcome Doc .. great to see you here!

    Hey Richard,

Welcome aboard. Glad to see you posting here as well.

You have to take Max's posts with a grain of salt. He doesn't have the same tact sensors that the majority of us do. He just says what's on his mind, but he doesn't think of it as being offensive or inoffensive. He doesn't think that way; at least that's the way I see it. He just asks the questions he wants to ask because he wants to know the answers. In a way, it's refreshing, kinda like the way a 5-year-old might say to his widowed father's new girlfriend, "Are you going to have sex with my daddy?" Haha. You know, the kid doesn't know any better; he's just asking a simple question. It's the same with Max. Just think of him as being a 5-year-old, and you'll have lots of fun with him. LOL!

    Kidding, Max.

Anyway, welcome aboard. You know that I share a lot of your thoughts and ideals about this business. We appear to be in the minority, though. People get really irked whenever someone actually calls them on their B.S. and asks them to start taking accountability for what they're putting out into the world. I, too, get very frustrated with the lack of a social conscious on the part of content producers, but you know how it is when people only care about making money. Who gives a shit if their content is any good or not, right? It's all about the MONEY. <wink>

Just stick tight to what you believe in and stay true to you. That's what I do. And I feel good about it.

Again, a hearty welcome to ya.

Hey, someone needs to push a moral agenda in porn. It takes the yin to balance out the yang.

I just get sick of people yinning all over me :tubgirl: if they would stay on their side things would be cool with me, but some love to go some kind of a E-Crusade. Unlike the American Indians I am going to start throwing rocks at the ships at first sight. So from time to time Please excuse me if I hit a fishing boat

thanks for the warm welcome, darlin'! most folks have been very hospitable. i'm really gratified.

yes, as i spend more time here and carefully read through past strings, i'm picking up real strong vibes from certain personalities. it looks to me like some are bullies and some pull their punches.

i've never been one to curb myself to humor the prevailing opinion. don't suppose i'll start now either. besides, i prefer to be in the minority. and with you there with me, well what could be finer?

That is true in a way I guess, and I do look at things sometimes like conversations this is not my job or anything. Why Lie? Just a bitch to keep up with all of them, trust me I have all I need to do now days as it is.

I do hold back trust me man, if I really said the first thing that popped in my head I might have call this guy DR Strange Love or something when he first got upset with my small poke. :shitpoke: But I know better than that now, and know this guys just creating his vision of things like all of us.

Sometime I do go to other boards to go off on people, fucking with people is one of the best things about online chat. :innocent: yet I know many of you see this as more like work or something. It does tell you something about people from time to time if you ask me as well

I think there's a big difference between "educational" and "a healthy perspective"

I haven't seen any of his porn, but it's certainly a name I recognize, and I appreciate the idea of someone with a counseling/therapy background working to produce image-positive adult content.

I think a lot of people totally ignore or miss the idea that pornography, portrayed in the right way and used in the right way, can actually be very healing and beneficial both to the people who view it and the models who participate in it.

    Welcome, Dr. Dick!

    why, thank you chip!

yeah, i think porn can be life affirming and uplifting. it can be sensual, alluring and seductive. it can be a celebration of sex.

[/QUOTE] I think a lot of people totally ignore or miss the idea that pornography, portrayed in the right way and used in the right way, can actually be very healing and beneficial both to the people who view it and the models who participate in it.

That is exactly what I'm talking about, Chip. Thanx for adding some supportive statements demonstrating that. I swear, I feel like I'm talking to walls sometimes when I try to relay this to people. They hear the words "educational" or "healthy perspective" and it's like their brains freeze up. Immediately they start to challenge me and tell me that it will never sell, or that "people don't want that kind of porn." Well, I do, and aren't I people?

Porn that sends a positive message doesn't have to be "bad" porn. It can be just as hot and filthy and nasty as any other porn. The "educational" aspect is really very subtle; people won't even know they're watching it. They'll just think they're seeing plain old porn. But the difference will be that--hopefully--in time, based on the images they've seen in that kind of porn, their thought process might begin to change a little bit. They might start finding a wider circle of men desirable; they might find certain sex acts previously thought to be nasty kind of hot. If people are using models that look more like them, hell, perhaps they won't feel so alienated from the men they're watching on TV and they'll feel a little better about their own bodies. Who knows what might happen if people actually started producing porn that they felt made some kind of subtle statement about gay male sexuality?

I find it ironic that so many companies proclaim that they include condoms in their videos in order to send the message that safer sex is good for gay men. Well, is that not the same thing as what I'm talking about? If the idea is that people don't pay attention to anything besides men fucking and are just going to do what they want anyway, then why bother to include the condoms at all then? Obviously, there's a disconnect going on here. Either we believe that it's possible to send messages via porn or we don't.

Personally, I know for a fact that people take messages away from porn. Basic common sense tells me this. Experience tells me this. I have, at times, felt reassured, liberated, alienated from and insulted by gay porn, and personally, I'd like to create porn with a more consistent focus on reassuring and liberating gay men, instead of talking down to them and making them wish they looked more like the guys they see on the screen.

It IS possible to change the way that people think using entertainment as a means to an end. History has revealed this to be true. If people want to think that having a purpose beyond simply lining my pockets with money makes me all "uppity" and "snobby," then so be it. Maybe when I finally secure some financial backing and get my thing off the ground, people will understand what I'm talking about. Until then, I'll just go on encouraging others to "think outside the [money] box" and take a shot at it as well.

Hello Dr. Dick. I'm a little late in my welcome but welcome just the same. I'm glad you stuck around long enough to see that everyone here has different personalities. In a way, Max is like a litmus test to see if new members have the mettle to be part of the board. LOL! A lesser person would go screaming into the night. Glad to have you as part of our GWW family.
