The thing to remember is that there are a lot of gay men who fetishize groups that they were either denied access to when they were younger or who view those groups as something they wish they could be but would not fit into the lives they have created for themselves. Many men get hot for military guys, sometimes they see them as the ideal men, masculine, sexy, and confident (or in some cases submissive and obedient). So they like to look at men in uniform, get dressed up in uniform, that sort of thing. Same deal with punks, jocks, and even to some extent twinks. I think a lot of older guys love twinks because they couldn't come out at an early age and in a way wish they could be twinks themselves. So the Emo thing goes right along with that. But you guys are correct in saying that if someone will do an Emo site it needs to be well researched. You can't just put a twink in a bad wig with some eyeliner and call it an Emo site. You couldn't even shoot pics of emo guys and put them in a generic site. The whole look and feel of the site needs to go with the emo mood or it won't work. Even though you're probably not going for an emo audience, the guys who fetishize emo guys are going to want to see real emo guys (or models who really look close) in their own environment.

I could have sworn that there was a "suicideguys.com" or something along those lines. And I've actually had conversations about this niche with a number of people over the last couple of months to the point where I started buying up domains but nothing has ever come out of it.

But I do agree that finding emo boys for the content would be difficult as from my experience, most of them come from well-to-do homes - so you can't bank on the desperation card. Now if you focused more on the hXc or Punk scenes, you might have better results. $0.02

Atleast in regards to the goth kids, here in Ohio, they are more than plentiful. I used to go to a "goth night" at the local club just because I liked the industrial electronic music they played. Anyways, the sexual orientation of the group was very blurred... it was like one big bisexual convention of black clothing had flocked into the club for at least that night before they all trickled back to their boring lives the next day.

Anyways, if you can find gothic guys that are interested in modeling for you, use the gay ones for action scenes and the straight ones for solos.

I think a lot of gothic guys are hot, but most of the "hotness" for me contributes from the clothes and the overall image. Take all the clothes off, and you're going to have a rather transparent anorexic thing with long hair standing in front of you. *shrugs* would definitely be interesting to see, although I hope the sex appeal stays even after the clothes.

It's like going to a sports site and seeing 2 pics of a kid in a jersey and then the rest of the set has nothing to do with football at all.

I agree though that the biggest obstacle won't be finding the models, but getting them interested in doing it. Part of the whole culture of emo and goth is the laid back, seperated type of lifestyle they chose to put themselves in. Being a gay porn star clashes with that a bit I suppose. I definitely wish you luck though, it's definitely an untapped niche at this point.

You hit the nail right on the head. Do emo guys wear eyeliner? That's one thing about the goth guys. You have them in eyeliner, black lipstick, black spiky or poker straight hair, let them strip slowly but still leave the jewelry on. There used to be an awesome magazine for goths but I don' tremember the name but they always had these hot shirtless models. It wasn't porn but you often got the feeling that the guy taking the pics was really into goth guys. The pics were usually mostly male and often had homoerotic imagery, all in black and white. Very cool stuff.

Goth doesn't do much for me, but I dig the emo look.

And I don't think there'd be too much of a problem finding enough of-age emo guys. I went to a show by an indie/postrock band here just recently and I'd categorize 90% of the audience as looking pretty emo or indie hipster or a meld of both (I was in the remaining 10% hehe) and it was an 18+ show. And a lot of guys had wristbands to drink, so they were over 21.

I think the difficulties in starting up a site like this would be the same as in starting up any site focused around a very particular look and type of guy, with the added issue of the look/type involving a trend that may or may not last very long.

It's similar, in a way, to having a site all about guys with big dicks. You launch your site and it's chock fulla guys with 10''+ penises but after awhile you end up using some 7.5'' and 8'' - dicksizes that are nothing to shake a stick at and mighty fine indeed, but not necessarily what one thinks of when checking out a site that's supposed to be all about really big dicks.

Or sites that are all about football players or soccer players or ruggers and the like. After a while you can tell they just found some random dude and threw a uniform on him. Same goes for military guy sites. But at least their talent pools are larger, though a great many suffer from the same issues regardless.

I dig the emo look and usually just get my fix on that front in other porn (the occasional DVD or site that has the odd emo-lookin model).

BTW, it should be noted, I credit myself with having come up with the term "emo".

Many years ago, in the mid 1990s I was discussing a band I liked with some friends in an AOL chatroom and they were asking me to describe what this band sounded like.

"Punk-ish, but with some real emotional feelings and outbursts in it too. Not like angry punk or anything, but thoughtful, melancholy, deeeeeep emotional punk", I said.

    "Emotional punk?" they asked.

"Yup. Like... emo, you could call it." I responded.

    And the rest is history

(ok ok whereas the story's itself is true, whether or not it had anything to do with the word "emo" being used to describe that type of music is still something the scholars can debate forever hehe)

I really didn't know there were straight Goth guys. I seriously thought that was just another niche beneath the "gay" umbrella.

I remember MorbidTech.com where these comely guys would be involved in a mock autopsy. Believe it or not, that was COOL. It looked great. it did the best job at balancing fantasy and reality. It looked real as far as the room and equipment and everything was concerned, but you knew it was a fantasy because corpses never looked so great.

I would love to find a gay goth/vampire site to promote. Pale skin and fangs makes me hard

PLENTY of straight emo and goth guys. I agree with Sam, though, not only are they shy, but in my experience, most of them are REALLY shy about their bodies... won't even wear shorts, let alone get naked and jerk off.

The other comment I'd make is, for us at least, kids coming from money isn't a factor in their decision to do porn. I would say the majority of our models seem to be from families that have money, and their motivation to do work with us is rarely just for the money. I mean, obviously money influences the decision, but most of our models just love the visibility and attention they get from working with us.
