How long did you lurk before making your first post on GWW?

I joined YEARS ago and posted right away. Lee and Gary immediately made me feel right at home. I think Michael or Jigg referred me here from the old AVSfriendly.

Yeah those were in the days of the purple board. I think I said hello pretty much right away, but I found that I had to hang out here a long time before a lot of people actually talked to me. There were a few who answered your questions; a lot I felt were waiting to see if you were sticking around. Once I'd actually been here six months more people started talking to me.

I really don't remember, but I guess it was probably 2 or 3 months after I signed up.

About a week or so, I think. Can't remember exactly.

But I do remember that it was intimidating. There are a lot of pros here and you can feel like you're sticking your neck out a bit. Even to this day I tend to keep quiet and listen and learn from others instead.

Very first day! I had originally planned on hanging back for a while before saying anything, but as fortune had it, it was the same day of the posting about kocis' murder, so as a former 'cobra boy' i thought it too much of a coincidence not to say anything...

now i still do a lot of lurking. As a relative newbie I find it an invaluable resource as well as an entertaining addition to my day. thanks. :groovy:
