When Lara placed a self-portrait taken at age fourteen on deviantART, she never expected it to be stolen by TVX Films and placed on the cover of the DVD porno "Body Magic." Lara asked the President of TVX Films to remove her photo and compensate her for the theft. He responded with the following email:

I'M SURE BY THE END OF THE MONTH YOUR FACE WILL BE HISTORY. WE HAVE STOPPED SELLING THE DVD UNTIL COVER IS REPLACED. WE HAVE FURTHER CHECKED OUT YOUR NAME AND ITS NOT LIKE IT'S A HOUSE WHOLE NAME. ACTUALLY, REMOVING YOUR IMAGE WILL HELP IMPROVE THE SELL OF THE DVD..... SO FAR IT BOMBED.

THEY ARE REMAKING THE COVER AS WE SPEAK SO YOUR TEN SECONDS OF FAME WILL SOON COME TO AN END.

AS FOR COMPSENSATION;YOUR SILLY!

no, you don't - and that's a shame. at this point, the news is much more excited to report things that go wrong on adult sites, but that doesn't mean that these things don't happen on non adult sites - it just means news doesn't think a small blog having a stolen pic on it is news. i have run across news stories, but always hidden so you'd really need to dig. only when it's either a big money site or adult do we read about it.

Which goes towards my point, when these are the type of stories being heard about on the news, blogs, etc, is there any wonder why 'adult' has a bad name?

You know what is worse, i bet anyone doing business with this guy, after he 'changes' the image, will continue doing business with him, so he'll get away with it.

We all know some unscrupulous teen sites use underage head shots, on gay sites underage head to waist shots, to tempt surfers to join.

I've never heard of someone doing this on DVD... an even new low for our industry.

Yet another example of lack of ethics in our industry.

I hate what this says about our industry. The sick part about the media is that they will report it, make us all look like slime and his sales will increase as a result. I wish that someone with some judgement would start making the call to hold back on information that benefits the criminal. Between this, the microwave story and the evil that is RapidShare I need a break.
