Web 2.0 is everywhere around us right now, whether it comes int he form of the latest news update from CNN, a review site, a blog entry or a video from YouTube Web 2.0 is ruling the roost online. In fact, many would say that Web 2.0 is one of the largest driving forces on the internet today, a force that relies solely on innovation by website developers rather than their inventiveness and that force is growing at a remarkable pace, especially in the adult industry!

All of these things and more make up the body of Web 2.0 in fact, some of the best examples of Web 2.0 experiences online would be places like YouTube, MySpace, Flickr, GMail and the other popular user-driven websites we have all at least seen or heard of, even if we havent used them yet.

These are the types of site that are there to help everyone, individually online, the person, not the group. Individual, democratic, informative, this is what Web 2.0 is all about.

So What About Web 1.0?

To understand even better what Web 2.0 is all about, you have to have a little understanding about Web 1.0, Web 1.0 was nothing more than static HTML pages without the option of letting the user viewing the pages to do anything with them, sure they could share the link with a friend, but that was about it. With the advances in scripting and programmers imaginations, Web 1.0 started evolving in to something more than just static HTML pages and forms, it started to develop in to a more interactive experience and from here, Web 1.0 gave birth to Web 2.0.

So How Can We Use Web 2.0 In The Adult Industry?

The truth is, many of us already are, thousands of webmasters these days run a blog, thousands of webmasters share videos, there are even sites specifically caterinng to some of these Web 2.0 functions for the adult world, PornoTube, XTube, Xpeeps, the list continues to grow on a regular basis, as more and more companies and individuals are realizing that building web communities and interactive services end up attracting large amounts of visitors which in turn end up making them even larger amounts of money. As of today, Web 2.0 has redefined the internet we use, it has added a new level of user to the web that we never had before, it is making surfers become more trusting, it is making the internet evolve from a clunky collection of hyperlinks to a internet experience, for both the end-user and the site owner, Web 2.0 will never really end, its going to continue growing on a daily basis, as more people join the MySpaces and the YouTubes of the world, sharing, developing, interacting with other users, the internet is evolving and Web 2.0 is just the tip of the iceberg.
