What Would You Say The Major Differences Between Gay And Straight Businesses Are?

Obviously we know that gay sites are more profitable, even during this current economic downturn and that we have a much more affluent audience than many of the straight companies do but, other than that, what would you folks say some of the major differences are between gay and straight companies in the adult industry?

I would say that the major difference is that straight business has the advantage of being everywhere having 90% of the potential customers that we have. Any kid (18 years +) can feel proud to go into his local 7-11 and say he wants the latest PlayBoy or Hustler magazine in front of his friends and god with no shame!

Like wise with DVD rentals...same thing in the backroom of their local video/dvd rental store.

We gay have to hide...so GOD BLESS THE INTERNET! That is where we shine...in a dark room with no one to interact with except the scrubbers of CCBill's computers...They can see the perverted GAY PORN they want!

So that is what I see being the major difference between Gay and Straight business...where we can sell it the best.

i dont agree i think that gay porn has been just as visible in the last few years as straight porn has because of shows like queer as folk and the L word on regular tv yes it used to be hidden and something to be ashamed of but not so much anymore

i think a big difference is the people working in gay and straight porn most of the straight message boards i am registered at the people who post on them really do act like they are disgusted to work with queer pictures and movies but so far i have not seen any gay webmaster say they are disgusted or act like they are with working on straight sites with pictures and movies

i think gay webmasters seem to be a lot more open to trying new things that might not be their tastes than the straight webmasters are because the straight webmasters might think we are going to make them gay or something

I might be out on a limb here, but I think the biggest difference is the people involved.

You don't find as many huge mega-sponsors as in straight.
You also find people more willing to help.
I have also found the message boards more helpful as well. The straight ones I visit are more for "chatting" then biz chatting...
