    POZ Play

Ok...here's a thought I had a while back. What do you think of creating content OF poz guys FOR poz guys. With all this recent attention being paid to safer sex and barebacking production, it reminded me that this was something I thought of a couple years ago. I know some POZ guys who think that as long as you both have it, it's ok to have bareback sex. To those of us with a brain, we realize that's not the case...then there's the "bug-chaser" angle. However, I have to say that in living, especially in sexual scenerios, logic is not always the behavior determining factor.

It just occured to me that there were a lot of connotations available in that arena. Some may take it as motivation within the POZ community that one CAN stay healthy and sexy and still have hot sex. I just wondered what you all thought about the aspect of producing and marketing adult websites aimed specifically at the POZ population. Particualarly among a group of people that has more than the usual issues with having real sex...virtual sex is often a welcome outlet.

Is anybody currently doing this? Does anyone think this is a good/bad idea? Why? Looking for feedback and some discussion here people...Thanks in advance.

HDK is challenging other adult companies to front money to produce an "erotic educational video" or something to that effect to the best of my understanding. HDK themselves have a policy of NOT inquiring as to their models' HIV status while continuing to produce bareback content. Regardless of politics...and while I'm all for promoting sexual self-esteem within the POZ community, I also don't want to further degrade the already overwhelming LACK of respect that young people have for HIV today. Yes, you can live a full, happy life. But it can still be devastating and I personally know too many people who view it as no big deal. "It's simply a manageable thing these days." Sometimes I feel caught between the need to promote a healthy, vital, sexy image of POZ gay men and the need to expose the devastating effects the virus can have on the lives, not only of those infected, but of those who love them as well.

Damn...getting more involved in this discussion than I had planned. Back to basics...who wants to make PORN?!?!

Not being a Gay content producer, I don't know what "POZ" is?
can you help me with a definition?
Is it anything like POV (Point of view)?

    Hope that helps.

    Hi all,

I honestly don't think this will fly.

I remember a few years back, there was a + porn actor who was trying pioneer the way for HIV-positive men. I think that he made a couple of movies, but then I don't think I heard much more about him, or the issue. I don't remember his name – that could be important.

Porn is fantasy. HIV is reality. I don't think the two mix well.

Barebacking sites sell because they evoke danger. They appeal to thrill seekers and risk takers. Gamblers. Bareback sex is raw. It's real. It's the way things used to be. You can't get any closer than that. It's forbidden.

    Verbotten.

Schnell, get me my credit card.

Fast forward Joe and Mark's website, these two guys are HIV-positive, they're having sex. It's hot, oh baby, it's really hot ...

People don't want to think about HIV while they're jerking off. And believe me, HIV-positive guys, they want as much of a fucking break from it as they can get.

Yes, we're a reality-tv crazy world right now, but I think when it comes to our porn, we don't want reality.

    Fantasy.

    Cheers,

Michael i think you are right on target with your assesement of what surfers want.. they look for reality from the fantasy aspect but when it gets to close to home as it were it becomes a turn off.
