Do u think it's appropriate for Platinumbucks to put a religious symbole in porn site

I'm not sure any of you guys have seen the new site of the Platinumbucks named : Bangkokbangers.

I think it’s very offensive for any Buddhists (or any right mind people) to see the Buddha statue sitting in that porn site. I wish the Platinumbucks should have been more sensitive and more respectful for other religions. I just could not comprehend what would that Buddha statue picture do any good in that website. To boost your sales? Or to portray of the Asian culture? If the latter question were valid, should we put the picture of Jesus Christ on the cross in every porn site to portray the majority of western porn owners’ culture? I think it’s very naïve for the platinum bucks to put the Buddha statue picture on that website and try to be cute about Asian Culture.

I am one of the webmaster who believe it’s very inappropriate to put the highly respected of the Buddha picture (not only in Asian countries but all around the world) in that porn site. Also, I do believe that there are many right mind people and webmaster sharing this feeling.

I have contacted the company many times to beg them to take that picture out, but no response. If you guys think that this is not right and it will just create a backlash among Buddhists (that I will be sure to send the email to those organizations) and it might draw the attention and scrutiny from outside authority. Please don't list any sites that promoting the BANGKOKBANGERS. We should let our industry asid from religious conflicts. We already have a lot of problems to deal with in this industry.

I looked at this site and was going to market it as well. Then, I to noticed the Buddha.

I am a christian, and believe in God. However I do practice Buddhism from a philisophical view and find the religion both peaceful and very respectful. To use the buddha in this way ia very shocking and disturbing to me.

I also run an asian paysite. More a personal webcam type site in which we communicate with our members. I have found that many members are asian and most likely practice buddhism. Also, buddhism is one of the fasted growing religions in Western civilization. Many of our white members also practice this religion, as they like asian guys and are very active in the asian communit. Many have asian boyfriends and asian friends. Thus the buddhist influence.

To use the buddha in that way is totally unacceptable. I challenge you to find me a site that has Jesus Christ on the cross in their tour.

I first saw the site and said wow, what a great design. I could easily send you 200 signups. I guess topbucks or asiannguys will get my traffic.

Good luck with your crusade of offending all buddhist visitors to your site. If its some marketing ploy, let us know how it works. If you want to remove the buddha I will send you a few hundred sales.

It's up to you. Have a nice day.

Although I wasn't involved with the design and didn't really think of anything when I saw the Buddha, I can clearly see your point. We'll be removing that today. Please accept our apologies, as we certainly didn't mean to offend.

Well, to me it's simple. If I find a site that I don't think will sell, or that I personally don't want to endorse, then I just won't. You did right by letting them know that you find it offensive. But then if you don't want to promote it, you don't have to. If the sponsor sees that sales are low and so are clicks, then they'll see what's happening and rectify the issue. What's offensive to some isn't always to others.

I personally just checked that site out while reading this thread, and I didn't even see Buddha. Maybe they already removed this.

And on a bit of a side note, isn't finding offense to seeing a religious symbol in a tour like saying that what we do is morally wrong in selling adult content to consenting adults?
