    We're out AGAIN >: /

Just a heads up everyone... we had a couple of good old fashion Florida storms hit us last night, so the cable is out. We just got the power back on a few moments ago...

Right now I'm on the best dialup connection I can get... 14.4 UGH!

So if Lee and I are quiet it's not because we want to be LOL

Hopefully this will be fixed soon!

    My best,
    Gary-Alan

Wait so what you're saying is... that there is, in fact, such a thing as a 14.4 connection?
I coulda sworn it started at a 56k base and went up from there.

I can do ya one better...

Lee thinks I collect old keyboards (I have everyone since I owned a computer I don't know why) but what he doesn't know is there is a stash of modems in the garage... The lowest baud modem I have is 400 or 600. I have no idea WHY I still have them, but I do. I'll have to open a museum of computer antiquities, one day LMAO

PS: I signed off and on again and at least I got on with a 33.6 now LOL Let's hope it holds HAHAAHA

Ha -- with my roomfull of oldies but goodies and your garage full of things, we probably already have enough stuff to open one! I did manage to unload a shitload of the old 5 1/4 floppies ... a friend is actually collecting those things!

HAHAHAHA Oh my goodness! i love it! Ok I think we need to plan on a museum.

I can hear the children now... "What's that Mommy?"

"Oh sweetie, that's what we used to use to store our data. They call it a floppy."

    "Like my bunny, mommy?"

"No dear, like Daddy. It's not hard a rigid and if you're not careful it won't go into the slot you want it in."

Chris we're back in action over here. Case of "welcome to Beach living" The connection outside was corroded by the salt air. Go Figure! LOL

    14.4 --- how quaint!

Gee, if I heard a modem handshake now I don't know what I'd do.

Hey you could also send some good ol' hayes commands to the modem for ol' time sake. Like AT Z or ATH or get a friend to call you and type ATA.

You know what... When I hear the freaking modem connect I can STILL tell what rate i'm going to get.

I think it's an AOL commercial but they have a tone playing in the ad and it's 2400 connection. It drives me nuts when hear it LOL

Dang, I haven't thought about Hayes commands in eons LMAOPIP
