    Message Board Software

Hi all, I'm looking to add a discussion forum to my own site for people to discuss teh London Scene, clubs, etc. I'm a bit of a newcomer to this, so I wondered if anyone could give me some advice on good software, approx prices and any possible pitfalls.

    Cheers

    Rob

    ROBSTACK!

    Hi!

This board is run with SiteNet BBS http://www.focalmedia.net/sitenetbbs.html They have a free and for Sale Version.

Lee loves phpBB as well, http://www.phpbb.com/ and it's free. It's actually good.

Both versions have a lot of support and I think are relatively easy to format and install.

Hope this is a help! And good luck with your new board

    Regards,
    Gary-Alan

phpbb is a great free board, and if you are looking to spend a few dollars, http://www.infopop.com/products/ubb/ is probably one of the best boards available.

use PHPBB for my discussion boards. Previously I'd used some sort of Matt Wright-type of board and it was a pain in the butt to have to ftp the file over to change the bad posts, bashing, etc. I like the admin panel on PHPBB, it's really easy to block someone and editing is a snap.
