How Do You Use Facebook?

Do you use Facebook to keep your members posted about updates and news?

We are revamping our sites member areas and I am wondering what would be the best way to go about integrating Facebook without violating the FB terms.

I've been keeping alive the Facebook accounts for Squirtz and Videoboys for few months now. They closed both down a while ago but I think I broke their terms.

For now, I try to keep it clean. Only G-Rated Pictures. Clothed Pictures. I do announcements without too many naughty words. And I try to keep my outgoing links to pages that are also G-Rated.

I have not tries to integrate FB's "I like" tools to my porn sites. I've seen a couple doing it but I was too afraid to loose my accounts.

I don't bother. I've had an account deleted already, I figure it's just not worth the bother.

Yet I see Fleshbot doing it. How do they get away with it? They are about as porn as porn can get.

The only way I can see you getting away with it is to create a fanpage and post faceshots only. You put a barechested guy tweaking his nipples and you're gone.

I've had 3 facebook accounts closed as well. They will find fleshbot and close them eventually. I think sometimes they like to wait tell you really build your group up to pull the plug. I had 1000+ 'friends' on my Japanboyz fanpage and they shut it down, and every photo was g-rated. I did have a link to Japanboyz.com though which might have been the reason. But then, if you can't link to your site or advertise it what it is the point?

I was thinking of setting up FB pages for some of our models in more day to day life. See how that works. :-)

I'm not sure if I should take up the work to have it deleted after a short time. At one point you have to link to your site and that's when porn comes into play and gives them a reason to delete it. I think the only way of doing it is choosing the name of your website, don't link to it and leave to your visitors to google your site. But at the end there has to be some connection to your site to make it worthwhile and it only needs one complaint and off you go.

Yeah that's how I felt after my page got deleted. We took a lot of time and work to build it up, do daily posts and get it really active. Then suddenly, overnight, it was gone with no reason or explanation. Like you said, I think all it really takes is one person to complain.

The only thing you could try to do is set up a totally non XXX site that you promote and link to...maybe a blog of your model in his daily life that is totally clean. Then on that blog, you could have the model say he did porn somewhere, and link to the porn site from the PG rated site.

This would be worthwhile to try, but you'd need to have a really special model, that you could get lots of PG rated photos of him from his daily life!

I have good luck with twitter. They are much more relaxed with content.
