comScore put out an interesting set of stats yesterday linking search engine usage and choice of browsers.

Not surprisingly, they found that Chrome users preferred Google (87%), Firefox was slightly more balanced between Google vs Bing and Yahoo, and Bing numbers were highest in IE (18.7%).

This goes to show that the default search engine in a browser is very important, and given that IE still dominates world browser usage, you can see how Bing is still important in search terms.

The second graphic attached shows browser usage from the 3 major stats companies that report on this stuff regularly. These stats were for March 2011, released at the beginning of April.
