Promoting Your Sites The Easy Way.

Whether you run a link list, webmaster resource, affiliate program, content provider, hosting company or any other type of site that needs to get webmaster traffic to it in order to succeed the one thing that you should start to do is promote your site on the various adult industry message boards and community's. However with this marketing practice comes several disadvantages and these are what we will look at in this brief article.

Posting Your News - The Rules.

For the most part the initial steps you take towards promoting your new site will be what sets the tone of it within the adult webmaster community almost immediately and, with that said, it is always wise to err on the side of caution when posting on the various webmaster discussion forums the adult industry has to offer you. More often than not you will notice that on any forum there are posters who are classified as 'spammers' the instant they made their first post and, some of the time this is because the individuals involved either do not understand why their post is spam or, they really don't care what they do to get traffic.

Posting On Message Forums.

The first thing that any of us needs to be aware of when posting messages on community forums where webmasters are present is that almost every one of these forums has a section especially created for you to post your news and announcements and, unless you own the board you are posting your message on or, unless you have specifically asked the board owners to post in areas other than the announcements and spam forum, then you should only post your message in the designated forum. By posting in general discussion forums or forums where your topic is not relevant this will instantly get you labeled as a spammer and will do your reputation and, your sites more harm than good.

When To Post Your News.

As with any type of marketing method the one golden rule that you should always take into consideration is the timing of your post. For example, posting your news on a Friday or just before a public holiday will be of no use to you, for most webmasters the weekends and public holidays is 'rest' time and your message wont be seen by as many potential 'eyes' as it could be. Instead opt to post your news and announcements in the start or middle of the week, by this time, most webmasters are back into the daily grind of working their sites and visiting their favorite community forums which in turn, means you have a much higher chance of your message being seen by a webmaster looking for the type of site or service you have to offer.

Respond To Follow-Up Replies.

More often than you would think there are times when individuals and companies post their news and announcements on various message boards only to be greeted by webmasters asking them for more information however, in many cases the original thread starter doesn't bother to respond to these messages instead the questions asked of them go unanswered and in turn, this makes it look like these companies don't care about the webmasters thoughts or concerns. If you post on a public forum expect to see questions from other webmasters and, more importantly, answer those questions in a timely manner.

Cross Posting Messages.

Another aspect of posting your news and announcements on message forums is to ensure that you 'stagger' the days when you post. 25 messages being seen across multiple forums on the same day is going to blatantly look like spam whereas 5 messages a day for the next 5 days on different forums isn't. Remember, there are now tools available to webmasters to choose the threads they read and reply to, if your thread sets of several 'alerts' on multiple forums all with the same exact topic, chances are that those threads will go un-read.

Message Board Promotion - Recap.

When all is said and done the best and quickest way to get your message seen by as many webmasters possible in the shortest possible time is definitely promoting your site on the various webmaster community forums however, with this practice also comes a lot of potential hassles, make sure you plan not only what you are posting but also, where, when and who posts the message. After all, one wrong post on the right forum will do you more damage than a right post on a wrong forum.
