NatNet to Upgrade Core Routing Platform: Sites Will Be Offline

As part of our ongoing investigation into the events on Wednesday 7/11/2012, our onsite engineering team has recommended an upgrade to our core routing platform. This maintenance will be performed on 7/17/2012 and 7/18/2012 between the hours of 4-6 AM EST. During this period, there will be approximately 15 minutes of downtime each night while we perform major code upgrades as well as replacing some failed hardware.

We apologize for the short notice but in order to provide the best possible experience for our customers, it is imperative that this be done as soon as possible.

As always, should you have any questions, please feel free to submit a ticket at https://www.mynatnet.com or call us toll-free at 888-4-NATNET (international: 678-247-7000).

We thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.

    Warmest Regards

    Bill VanVorst

Certified is doing the same thing. Got a very similar email from them. Something tells me that the crazy weather in the US played a part in all of this. It would make sense.

Did anyone find out any other information about these server problems?

Certified rents data center space from NatNet so anything major that happens to NatNet is likely to happen to Certified.

This does tick us off to be honest. I don't understand why they have to take everything offline vs backup and backup to keep sites online. This does irritate us. This is why we left the hosting company prior. Luckily, National Net does treat us good.
