I really dont think any studios are paying any models in the thousands per scene.
Take a look at Craig's List ads in various major cities and almost all promise $2,000 or more. True, once they get a guy in the door that fee might be attached to doing things the typical "straight" guy has no interest in, but when I guy sees an ad that offers $200-$500 vs. one that offers $2,000, which do you think they'll respond to?

I'll be 100% straight up... I talked to 12 of my friends. One is 35. All have said that they have never in their life paid for porn. They go to tubes, and they get it free there. One said he spends five minutes on a tube and hasn't spent a thing. Two of my other friends laughed at me and said, "Shit, who pays for porn?" It's true.
I am one of those who have never paid for porn. I can't get off to our stuff. I go to tubes to get off. Never have I bought but once when I was 18, that was a membership to Badpuppy. During my first month with Badpuppy, I found tubes. I cancelled my rebilling membership and stuck with tubes.

The tube3s... You go there, BOOM! Lengthy videos. You peek at a couple, your cock is hard, you click through. When I do it, I type in a word I like (Bareback) and then I can click on "Longest" and I go from there. Again, 5 minutes - I'm done.
honey, people pay for porn. We wouldn't have jobs if people didn't pay for porn LOL maybe none of your friends pay for porn. But alot of my friends do. My opinion was based on my own observations on porn. For me, I know the types of porn I want to see and what "gets me off". I personally dont care to much for tube sites. Because I like an exact niche/type. And anytime I have gone to tube sites. I feel like I spend to much time looking for that exact thing.

I'd have to say that I get the same response as PFLJayden in regards to friends and people I meet who say they never pay for porn. Of course there are still people who do pay, but I just don't see how that demographic will grow in the coming years.

I think our best bet to turn things around would be for the government to start enforcing 2257 laws again, but this time go after all the tube sites first.

of all the people I knew who paid for porn memberships, and rebilled for years, none do it anymore.

The ones I know who torrented a lot of porn have drastically cut down, some have stopped altogether, virtually everyone telling me that porn sucks, it's boring, same old shit, it's not even worth downloading etc. What seems to come up a lot is amateur stuff - real amateurs - swapping photos of each other or getting on live cams.

On the other hand - you can now pay $30 on iTunes or Amazon and download a whole season of a TV show. You can pay $7.99/month and get shit ton of TV shows and movies on Netflix to stream to your TV! $7.99!

Almost 3 million people ditched pay TV since 2008 and are perfectly happy with their streambox.

Meanwhile we're still charging $40 for a site with 40 videos, and many are probably banging credit cards like crazy. Not to mention that porn has become repetitive. So why would anyone want to shell $40 for a month membership?

I think the vast majority of gay porn sites are charging in the $19.95 to $24.95 range, and most of these have many more than 40 videos. I can only think of a couple that charge close to $40 a month.

Having said that, I see and agree with your point about pricing. I think that's why you see some site owners offering cut-rate subscription deals every now and then. On the other hand, I've always thought $25 a month was a reasonable price. If a site updates once a week/four times a month, that's about $6 a scene. I know there are some gay porn scenes I downloaded years ago that still get me off... I've probably watched them dozens of times, so whatever membership fee I paid was well worth it.

But I must admit that I sometimes find a lot of gay porn today boring. Sometimes the only thing that will get me off is something kinky or new I never saw before. Even some of my favorite porn stars like Paul Wagner don't always get me off. Maybe I'm getting old!

Sometimes I think it's not a new niche or something that's really going to get guys off watching it, but rather..THE ACTING!
As several have mentioned on here it seems like so many of these guys are just going through the motions and not really into the sex.
I look at oldie goldie stuff from the 70s and 80s and the guys really DID seem into then. Maybe because it was so new and actors were not so jaded. But it seems like a guy walks into the room where another guy is and WHAM..in less than 60 secs or so, they're going at it. And going at it like they are thinking to themselves "Hmm..I wonder if that hot guy I saw last nite is going to be at the bar again tonite"..than thinking "Man I LOVE FUCKING THIS GUY!"

They don't have to be superior actors, but I think more of the models (and DIRECTORS) need to bring MORE eroticism into their personality when it comes to the FOREPLAY and the ACTUAL PLAY.

Guys is true the way people search and paid to see our porn is changing but we need to adapt. I dint need to change the look of my sites for years I stop messing updating changing my sites fro 3 years. then panda came., and I dint make more than rebills. So I decide to study what happens. and 3 months later I'm crawling back my way up in search engines and seeing my sell go up again.
The trick Niche guys even the same content can be fill to any site accommodating niche,

Before My models were black, white, Latino, Asian, now they are., my ex black boyfriend, straight black boy, and every niche I could think of for model set.

So tube sites can give some videos but we are the only ones that can have uniqueness. and if you research for what people still looking for, and focus on that you will get new customers just tell them you have what they looking for.

Thats the point that im making. I know that sales are down. And tubes are an easy find. But what you get is never really what you want exactly. People just settle for it.
