I started doing some Twittering a few months ago.

Tweets also post to my FaceBook page.

I do a few Tweets now and then.

Also a few months ago, I started capturing HTTP info about each surfer to each of my sites. I've written a couple of PHP scripts to read thru those logs, and see what surfers do on my sites.

Today, I analyzed my Twitter referrals. I've had 10,300 total since Oct!

I think I'll get busier with Twitter!

Are you seeing returns on your tweets? Also, what did you learn from your surfers' behavior?

I am capturing the surfer's IP, along with the HTTP stuff of where s/he came from (for each of my 6 porn sites).

Next, I'm writing a PHP script that follows the IP, over the months, over the 6 sites I can track.

What they looked at, what they bought (DVDs, eBooks, Clips).

Can't track what they did if they went off to one of my movies on AEBN, HotMovies, or DogGone, but I can track within my realm.

I started with the raw hits and the Unique IP hits. I have tallied raw and unique hits to all of my sites, and from the various blogs I post on - including GWW.

Next is the surfer's individual activity. Mostly looking backwards, if a surfer bought a DVD or a eBook or a Clip - what did s/he did prior to that datetime.

Seriously, this technology is years old, i think it is how CCBill and NATS works, but I'm just getting to it now.

Here's the hits of people on GWW clicking on any of my links in my sig or when I post pictures. I have 6 porn sites, and 3 non-porn sites in this tracking. I use jpgraph.

I post to 18 blogs that drive traffic to my 6 porn sites, so now I have 18 of these graphs, including Twitter.

The BIG reason why I started capturing IPs and HTTP stuff in May, and now working on analyzing it, is that if I'm going to buy ad space (traffic), I want to be able to prove value.

Google ripped me off on adwords a year ago by sneaking in the keyword 'porn' and blowing up my budget for no value in return.

And in turn, if people buy my DVDs, eBooks and/or Clips, I want to know what I did - if anything - to attract the consumer to my site(s) that resulted in a sale.

The other reason why I started taking HTTP/IP stats, is based on something I read last Spring that as much as 50% of web traffic is non-human. BOTS!

So I also analyze for that!

I look for BOTS that show up, and I look for BOTS that DON'T show up - namely Google.

I see disproportionally low hits from Google. Yet they want to sell Adwords because they are so active!

I've already added a bunch of BOTS to my .htaccess deny list.

What's funny is the hits from turnitin.com - the academic service that helps college profs look for plagiarism by students on term papers! hahahaha - some college kid is going to plagiarize one of my Coach Karl gets blown by a swimmer jock posts!

I'd rather there'd be a better BOT that scours pirate sites for my movies.
