PayPal has always been a moving target.

But there is some history of PP liking tangible goods (DVDs).

Are you looking to sell DVDs, memberships, or digital downloads?

From what I've seen, DVDs would be the safest, memberships possibly, but not digital downloads.

The "possibly" in both cases would be until some buyer would complain to them, as buyer's are known to do, then PP could play the "adult" card, even if it wasn't valid.

PayPal is very much "seller beware".

If you are selling DVDs, you should definitely do CCBill. DVDs are not considered "risk" by Visa, and therefore you can qualify for the lower processing rates and fees.

CCBill is the safest processor for memberships and digital downloads, although I have had very successful dealings with Commercegate.

Hi Nickbaer Yes I see what you mean about complainers. To be honest when I had DVD's on clips4sale I sold one in 1 year so I got rid of the site and concentrated on download. I also have my own site and run membership through Verotel So really not that bothered about going through the nightmare of posting ect I was just real intrigued about Pay Pal allowing porn stuff.

I never really pursued Clips4Sale. The American company HotMovies.com has a clips division. It is a good VOD platform, but like all VOD platforms, it is all about having a new release every couple of weeks, in order to stay featured. I'm not sure if clips are in demand by gay buyers, or more straight collectors.

Unlike member pay sites, with current VOD platforms algorithms you can't create brand identity unless you constantly turn out new content. Which is too bad, because that can water-down the catalog, and places a huge amount of stress on the producer to keep churning out more. You definitely can't promote themes and anthologies and portfolios.

As long as Visa regards DVDs as non-risk, I'm sticking with CCBill and CommerceGate (DHD in America) for both my tangible as well as digital downloads.
