To recur or not to recur!

For some time now Ive run my membership site (www.cp4men.net) on the premise that most guys will cancel a recurring as soon as the can. Thats why I have always maintained my membership as a one off payment without worrying about recurring fees. At the moment I am charging $29.95. I would like to get some feedback if possible in regard to changing to a recurring set up and what sort of price to charge for this or do I continue down the honest road. Your input is most welcome!

We bill for over 50,000 sites. Recur is definitely the way to go. Our average subscription life cycle is approximately 3 months - of course yours may be longer/shorter. This could give you 3 months of income from one user, which you may not have had if you did not offer subs.

Another way to think about it, is offer both. As an example you could do the following subs:

    Monthly
    One-time $39.99
    Auto Renew $24.99

    3 Months billing
    One time 99.99
Auto-Renew 69.99 *Most logical offer and it auto renews

Give it a shot and see what happens. I have quite a few customers running with a similar priced offering and they swear by it.
