    Hi everyone! (a newbie...)

    Hi everyone!

    This is Peter in Stockholm, Sweden, and I am a newbie here on GWW.

    I am not new to the gay porn industry (I am a "consumer"... ), but I am new as an affiliate to the porn industry. I have some experience as an online affiliate, but have never promoted adult sites before.

    To start with I need some input when it comes to adult hosting providers. The web hosts I use today do not allow adult content on their servers. They usually allow "erotic" sites but not "porn" sites - I think it is hard to draw a clear line between these two.
    Has anyone got any recommendations on good and cheap hosting providers that allow porn content on their servers?

    Also:
    This industry seems to have a lot of laws and regulations forced upon it (mostly in the US); 2257 statement, age records on file, etc etc.
    How much do I as an affiliate (in Sweden) need to adhere to these regulations?

    Thanks!
    /Peter

    First of all, welcome to the GWW forum~! As to cheap hosts that allow adult please check out my www.CheapAdultHostingXXX.com website. As far as the 2257, I'm not one to give you any advice as you aren't in the US. Perhaps some of our non-stateside members can give you some assistance with that question.

    Hello Peter!

    A branch of my family tree (Peterson!) hails from Sweden. Perhaps somewhere South, in between the seaports of Gothenburg and Stockholm.

    For hosting, you might look into www.Arvixe.com .

    As for requirements for record keeping, the universal requirements I have discovered of hosts and distribution sites include:

    * No models under age 18, no matter what the age of consent is for consensual sex in the country of residence of the model(s).

    * No sex without consent.

    * No bondage with penetration.

    * No illegal nor morbid depictions, including nonconsensual sex, animals, violence, assault, injury or death, and no body fluids other than saliva and semen.

    * Must have photo ID of model, issued by the government of the model's country of residence. Passports seem to be the most universal. (Photographers in the US must shoot models with IDs issued by the 56 US States, District of Columbia and Territories, and/or US Passport, not Tourists from other world countries.)

    * Some require an additional photo of the model holding the same ID to his (her) face.

    * A Model Release contract, expressing consent.

    * One Cam site requires IDs be updated after they expire, even for models who appear in videos for sale by the Cam studio host!

    * Payment processors, and some Program Sponsors, require Tax identification of the recipient of any payments received from the site.

    It sounds like you're only interested in hosting a site with erotic content, but if you're ever interested in shooting video, there may be local or country laws that have to do with responsibility of Producers if a performer contracts a disease. Or as with the US, Producers shooting with non-residents, which has more to do with the Customs and Border Control Visa issues regarding "employing" and "working," than being of legal age.

    Since I don't work with the niches of "barely legal" Twinks, fetish, nor bareback, none of the requirements I have ever been asked, have been unreasonable to comply with.

    United Kingdom producers and hosts have been subject to pretty severe registration and taxation in the Cameron administration. Thus there have been producers and hosts that have moved themselves or their operations either to other countries (e.g. Canada), or back home to their home countries (e,g, one webmaster who moved back home to Sweden from England).

    It's always good to talk about these things, to keep webmasters, hosts and producers in the light of day. These are points that I have observed from 20+ years of webmastering and product sales, and 10+ years of earning on others' digital download and/or streaming sites.

    Others here may have dealt with other requirements, specific to the US, South America, United Kingdom, Europe, East Europe and Russia, Mid East, Asia, Oceania. I probably am more conservative about rules, than others.
