    credit card processor

I need your help guys... what would you suggest me as far as credit card processor... i designed a site for a client and now he's blocked because he doesn't have a cc proc.
He doesn't want to pay $700 for visa, so i'm not sure what he can do... He signed with verotel but they're fucking slow and don't seem to know what they are doing because he faxed and mailed stuff over there and they keep saying they lost it, or didn't get it.... blah blah...
Any help would be appreciated )
    Thanks

tell him to pay the $700 visa fee and consider it a small business expense compared to losing all your rebills with a company that tried to get around the visa regs and then goes under (we all know the large, growing list of those IPSPs).

    cheers,

    Luke

    Hi Luke
Yeah that's what i would like him to do so he doesn't have to worry but unfortunately, he doesn't want to do that.

If you try to get around it, you'll only get fucked in the end and won't enjoy it.

He has to pay $750 for Visa -- OR -- he can go with CCBill and not accept Visa and just do Mastercard, 900 and online checks.

Of course, Mastercard charges $1,250 for registration but hasn't hit up the third party processors yet -- but -- soon.

You can say that again and again and again.

Unfortunately, the more ways you do try to get around it the more ways you wind up losing out.

I have a client who tried the Mastercard only option with CCBIll and while it DOES work, he had endless emails from surfers wanting to use their visa card. He estimated he lost close to 50% of his potential members because of it (his numbers not mine). But he did plan it out, after the site made enough money he paid the Visa charge.

Perhaps that is an option for your client, if it is a question of finances. If it's a matter of just getting around the Visa charge, then he's headed for trouble IMHO.

I think it's best to be safe and pay the $750. Hopefully he'll want to do that

Scorpio, if this guy really wants to get around the visa fee, his options are probilling (very strict rules, high scrubbing, emails sent out for every rebill = low rebill numbers), 2000charge (very long wait times to set up an account) or verotel (probably the best of the lot, but as you mentioned setup requires patience too).

I think that is about all there is now.

    Cheers,

    Luke

    Thanks luke

I'm gonna tell him to wait for Verotel.. that's his best shot.
Probilling refused him. And a paysite not being able to take visa would be suicidal.

Anyway thanks guys for your feedbacks

Hm, I have 2000Charge as a backup processor (the 4th one) and after Scorpio did my last site, they set me up within 24 hours.

They even pointed out that both Scorp and I had forgotten to have a 'members' button

it's funny how people try to skim corners, like the visa fees, then cry the loudest when they lose a bunch of cash when their processor goes under. :crybaby:

Steve, I'll hit you on ICQ, I know of a US based processor that does not charge the Visa registration fees.
