    Welcome to the board, Turbo!

I'm an AVS/AEN webmaster and in my opinion AVS is a great way to start. Mirroring sites (and yes, it's best to have separate sites for each AVS that you are submitting to) is definately the best way to find which AVS works for you. I have the best luck with UGAS and DeluxePass... I make a few sales with Mancheck and ProAdult also.

The real money in AVS, imo, is building and promoting Premium/Platinum sites. Make a few Platinum sites in varying niches, use extra fresh content, use a lot of movies if you can and update the sites frequently. Essentially, make them mini-paysites.

Then continue to build regular (aka. feeder sites) AVS sites and send the traffic (UGAS seems to send the most) to your hub site(s). Feature your Premium sites on your hub pages and upsell you Premium sites within your regular AVS sites.

*** NOTE: Many AVS's require no links to other AVS's, so your hub sites may need to be completely independent of each other. EXAMPLE: Don't send traffic from a UGAS site to your Mancheck hub site.

And PLEASE don't make crap sites with zero artistic merit! I believe that AVS/AEN is being killed by webmasters who build bulk sites (some build dozens a day) with boring over-used content. Please apply a little design sense to your tours. If you take a look at what is being listed on AVS's, you would swear that most sites were designed by 2 year olds with NO budget!!

Could you point me to some some sites that have done this well? As I understand it, I would not be charging for these sites, but that the UGAS-type members pay extra money to them for access to the premium sites?

I agree with you 100%. Doing some google searching etc, I came across so many sites in the niches I am looking at that look like what people were doing in 1992!

I am not sure what the practice is here so I won't post a link to a site under development, but if you or anyone else wants me to send you a link, just ICQ or email me. I welcome the feedback and advice!

    Ryan

    Hey there Turbo, and welcome.

It was nice to see you say "in a year." So many people come to porn all stary-eyed, thinking that they're going to make a fortune while doing next to nothing.

I started my sites in April 2003 after I lost my job. I've learned a heap, but the most important thing was that it takes a whole lot of time, work and effort to make this a success.

I think the AVS route is a good place to start. You can make reasonable money and you don't have to pour a lot of money into programming a paysite.

The other advantage to running an AVS-based site is that you don't have to worry about dealing with the customer service e-mail from the visitors. I like that a lot because it allows me to design sites, which is what I like to do. I don't want to spent all day helping people remember their passwords or answer their silly questions.

Buy your content; don't steal it. It's honest, it'll bring you less heart-ache, and in the end, I think it'll bring you more money.

Don't bullshit your visitors. Don't throw up a couple of hairy circuit boys and call it a bear site.

    Good luck,
    Dzinerbear
