    Site Design Question

Hello, this is my first post here and I feel a little awkward as I don't usually post on message boards.

I have a quick question I would like to ask and I'm not quite sure how to put it. I am building a gay link list, and I'm not sure if I've gone "over the top" with the color scheme.

Ok, it has a lot of pink. I'm not sure if this will offend some gay surfers or if it just looks plain ugly - I really don't know LOL. I'd hate to go through a re-design later on (I'm doing that to my first link list right now and it's a pain in the a**) so I thought I would come here first and ask some more experienced webmasters to the gay market for some advice.

Can a site be too pink? Am I worrying about nothing?

    Thanks for your understanding
    JK

can you show us a page? doesn't have to be all linked up ... just something to get an idea of how much pink we're talking here!

Oh, and welcome to the board!

    Thanks for the welcome

Ok - The basic design is here http://www.gaypornlinx.com/index.phtml. I think it's the background that does it to me :umm:

Hi J_K, and welcome to the board
I'm not sure pink is appropriate for a gay site. Pink is so much associated with teen girls sites now, and that's the first thing that came to my mind when i visited your site.
I would never use that color for a gay design but it's just me
    Fast loading site though :yeehaw:

Hmmm Well maybe a more masculine color would work.. Like blue or grey.... I like that you only used the pink on the background and not the entire page =)

Well, I musta missed the original ...

But I have a page that will be in my design site (that isn't really live yet) that may help you with choosing colors.
    Color Blocks For Webpages

This is a great tool for the new webmaster as well as a booster shot for old timers needing some inspiration for colors that work well together. When you settle down on your color scheme, repost a new link and give us a looksee.

    Thanks everybody for your input

I have gone and changed the color scheme to blue, instead of the pink. (Thanks LdyLnWolf1, I took the basic colors from your design site page

For some reason I thought there were a lot of gay sites with a pink color scheme.. I've had a quick search and could only find one LOL

Anyway, I think it looks much better now, thanks again everybody

You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?

Kewl, glad it helped you out ... the blue does look better than the pink.

I went with blue for my link list (igaylinks.com) as well. Eventually I will finish it and launch it.
