From surfing with female friends, I have some idea of what they generally like and don't like on the gay porn sites, and there is always something they are very interested in seeing. For those of you without a clue, I recommend making a site like hot or not, where men post profiles and stats and pics and all that, and women rate them until there is a man of the month or something like that. this would be a site geared toward women, where male surfers supply the content, that provides excellent "test marketing" on how women react to a site built for them and what kind of men they want to see on it. Of course a percentage of your voters will be gay men, but so would the traffic to any 4women site.

DigitalJay - a hot or not feature would be a big plus on any women's site. and a forum. interactivity makes someone feel a part of your site. if your site becomes a community instead of just a site, you will have very loyal members who will tell you what they want. this really applies to men as well as women.

As for the "for women" category at Ounique, the sets there are in no way comprehensive, and a lot of them have a lot of open bum shots. But a bit of extra searching provides results.

And most of the porn I make for women is couples based... and the more I market to women, the more I realise they're an eclectic bunch. Some like the sensual stuff, some like stories, and heaps more like hardcore.

i got that old chestnut from going through large numbers of posts by women on women's sites about sex and other topics when i did research for a site i built for someone. i also read polls in magazines and online, and i talked to hundreds of women.

i'm not saying that vision isn't a part of women's sexuality, but most of them felt a well written story turned them on more than pics. also the subject material of the pics they liked was different than what men seem to prefer. i'm judging what men prefer by what thumbs get clicked the most, and what sites sell to men the best for me and people i know, as well as men's magazines and egroups.

i have had barely any sleep, so i hope that this is in some way coherent. and KarenJ, i hope the storm gets over with soon!
