We carry 9 of your titles on wehovideo. Please let us know if there are more that we should be stocking.
Glad to have you here.

thanks for the welcome, my friend!
yeah, we have 11 titles now. however, i'm on a crusade to help our industry have a more realistic pricing structure for hardcopy DVDs. i notice that you sell copies of our movies for, as you say, Only $49.95. YIKES! ONLY? you can't be selling very many at that price, right?
this is one reason we've started distributing our own product. in the age of download to own, $49.95 retail DVD is unsustainable. i like our titles very much, but none of them are worth $49.95.
when my previous distributor(s) would buy from me at $8.00 a unit and those same DVDs would then wind up on retail shelves for $49.95, something is desperately wrong. wouldn't you agree?
i'd love to do business with you. especially if you're interested in passing the savings on to your customers. it seems to me a more realistic pricing structure serves us all in these waning days of the hardcopy DVD.

eek.
If we were charging $8 for our movies, we'd go broke.
I think it all depends on your production budget and your production quality.
I'm not speaking of your titles as I've never seen one, but yes, if you just have a Handi-cam video of two guys having sex on a hotel bed, your movie didnt' cost much to make and shouldn't sell for much at the store.
We just got back from a 10 day shoot in Australia with our five biggest stars shooting "Alumni Weekend 5: Australia" where we produced a beautifully shot movie with 6 scenes and using different locations and got all sorts of fun stuff along with it. We promoted it with video postcards to the podcast and blog updates and a live web-cast from the location and even G-rated clips on YouTube.
It's retailing for $59.95 and we're having trouble keeping up with the demand.
Sure, our weekly titles that feature one model in three scenes sell for $19.95 and the longer titles sell for $29-39.95 but I think that if you put enough effort into your movies, they should sell for the high price they're worth.

Welcome aboard Dr. Dick. This really is a friendly board and you can only find that out by contributing and getting to know the various personalties.
I can't imagine selling our stuff for $8 wholesale. We would have been broke a long time ago.
As to the price points you set on your retail sales, never forget the concept of "perceived value". We have always prices our films retail) mostly at $64.95. After 8 years we are still doing it. Some retail stores we see selling them for $89.95.
We could just as easily sell then for $39.95 or $29.95 or even $19.95 but our feeling is that if we do, we are saying, that is all they are worth and we then place ourselves into the same category as all of the amateur producers of adult films who basically just fiddle around with a cheap camera and cheap editing program and give little thought to audio or lighting, etc.
That's just our opinion but in the marketplace YOU determine the value of the films FIRST. Then your customer will let you know if you are correct or not. If they sell well...and continue selling well, then obviously your customer agrees with you.
While our older titles don't sell as well as our newer titles, they still are strong sellers, and, I think, that after 8 years, we've only reduced the first few we made down to $54.95.
Again, welcome on board!
Bill
these are some of the reasons that we are getting out of the hard copy replication and distribution model.
i haven't met a distributor i could trust. replication is often a nightmare. and the retail markup is, to my mind, way out of line. i think we do exceptionally good work. we have a very strong following. even the content we produce for others gets very high marks. but i'd just as soon take the money i'd otherwise give to an unscrupulous distributor and pass on the savings directly to my customers. download to own is where it's at for us.
