success rate is sketchy but works to build a volume of "reliables" - or at least as "reliable" as models tend to be - doesn't help that most change their cell numbers constantly, never live at the same place for longer than (...) etc, etc...

also what do you consider top dollar? we pay $150 per hour to most models, $100 to first timer amateurs and $250 to really hot or beefy guys

In this business, your models are all you are.

You have to pay for them or settle for less.

Our rules are simple.. no models, no porn stars, nobody who's ever done any adult work before, no rent boys, strippers and nobody from California.

Thats fair enough jasun but u have to remember that there are budgets involved. You guys have been around for a long time and are well established whereas others are still in the start up stages. Also there are different styles, categories etc for which you wouldnt pay someone a huge amount to do. In Australia, the going rate is about $AUD200 to $AUD350 depending on the model and what he is going to be doing. Even the guys who appear on DVD's here for O/S production houses get about that as well. If you are shooting for someone who wants you to shoot in nite mode say for a hidden camera site, theres no way Id pay a guy over a grand for something like that no matter how hot he was. But, each to his own I guess

Even that's not entirely fair.

Fratmen was paying that well from the get-go.

Which is why you can go back five years in our catalogue and not find a klunker in the bunch.

The reason that the big companies are able to build up as big as they do is that they didn't chintz out in the beginning.

i understand what you are saying but a lot of people in this industry start out with not much capital. So for a company not to 'chinz out in the begining' usually means they had the capital to do it to a high level straight off.

I dont think you can put a blanket statement on something like this because its not that simple. However, thats just my opinion, its neither right nor wrong, just an opinion.

I am having a tough time finding any "good" models for solo and even non adult sexy shoots. I pay top dollar but all I get is acne faced tweekers or other non attractive types.

I would and plan to pay "top dollar" just cannot find any top dollar worthy guys. So, yes I am looking in other places/states. LA seems to be tapped out or the guys are jaded from being screwed over.
