Design for AES?
Does anyone use Paysite type designs for AES sites? If so do you find that your signup ratios are higher because of the designs?
Another question, (this is directed more towards the designers in this forum) What are the default sizes on backgrounds and tables that you guys use?
Any input or replys will be greatly appreciated.:baby:

I originally posted asking what AES meant LMAOPIP!!!
Just goes to show you I should NOT post until I have had a full cup of coffee!
Personally, I have moved away from them. But I'm sure there are still many who do them. I'm going to post your question in the general forum too.
I'm not a designer.... but I do layout pages. Personally, I stick with a full width of no more than 750 on backgrounds and anything within that for table layouts. My reasoning comes from my stats. One package, from one of our hosting companies, shows the count of webmasters coming in at 800x600 res. That count out numbers higher resolutions (10:1 ratio).
One of our consultants recently purchased a premade template for a non adult project that was set at '1456' width. We literally had to help cut everything back to accomodate their site. While the design was good, the surfer to the site missed half of what was on the site because it ran way off the page. I cut it back to 750 and the change had positive results.
My two cents

I work in AVS/AEN and until very recently have been chasing my tail by constantly building Premium sites and then building feeder sites to get traffic to them. I have a couple of good sites (1 in particular) that are doing very well. But instead of building more feeder sites to get traffic to them, I'm using google adwords for traffic. I'm currently doing a little better than breaking even, but with rebills, I should do very well. And, I'm updating quite frequently (like a paysite). I've also mirrored the sites on several AVS systems and will rotate the traffic to see who rebills the best.
In effect, I'm marketing an AVS site as a Paysite. I'm not sure this answers your question, but I think that if you pay for a couple of really great "paysite" style designs and give those sites a special marketing push, you could quit the endless "feeder" site cycle. With $15 to $20 rebills from the AVS/AEN's, do you really want to bother with a paysite?... I do, but just not yet!
