TGP traffic sucks on it's own. The people who go to them generally just want free porn, and there's so much of it, that they generally don't even click on banners.
With free sites, if I get 1000 unique visitors, I can get as many as 3-400 unique visitors to my sponsor's sites. With TGPs, if I get 5000 unique visitors, I'll get maybe 200 unique visitors over to my sponsor's sites, and although the conversions are comparable, the rebills are a whole lot smaller. So it's a drain on bandwidth if you're just using it to get people to sponsor sites.
However, if you're not using them to send on to sponsors so much as direct them to your hub or your link list or somthing, the traffic becomes a comodity that you can trade, which is always good. So although I wouldn't stay away from them period, I'd be mindful of what I want to do with the viewers for the 25 seconds that I have them.
I don't have much experience with TGPs. I just started submitting to them a couple of weeks ago. And my initial reaction is that I'm not thrilled.
I was hesitant to get into them because I had heard from another member that they can really chew up your bandwidth. But I dove in one day and witht the help of Bec got it done and submitted my first one to Cumsoda. So, once I did the first one, it was pretty easy. So, I started looking for others.
I submitted to about six altogether and I've learned that acceptance can be anywhere from within hours to up to a week. That's a pain.
The traffic I've gotten wasn't really worth the time I spent preparing the galleries. So, I'm basically giving away my time and pictures. I'm sure it's a matter of figuring out which one are the better ones to use. But I've found the whole thing pretty frustrating: you find a TGP that's really nicely designed, has a great logo, so you think, "oh this is pretty above board" and then the guy takes a week to approve you submission, or you get a text link while all of the thumbnail spots are taken up with his own submissions.
Someone once said here that the only people that seem to benefit from TGPs are the TGP owners and the people getting free porn, and I'd have to say that I'm tending to agree with that.
The only reason that I'll continue using them is to get them to my site, which is approaching 50 galleries. That in itself has a "holy shit" factor and people might be willing to plunk down $20 on a MANcheck membership.

I honestly never did much with them. I put up one gallery to see what came from it. (Because I was hearing TGP this, TGP that)I got 4 sales out of it the first day, then nothing at all after that.
It just seems like to much of a hassle to deal with. Making the things, then tracking down good people to list with, then putting up their banners, then checking stats to see if it's worth it. The repeat it daily almost.
You'll get more with a kind word and a 2 by 4 then you'll get with just a kind word.

Hey, you do have a partner account with my TGP, right? If not, drop me pm and I'll set you up with one so you don't have to wait to be approved.Originally posted by Dzinerbear

But I do agree with you that the traffic is pretty weak unless you're doing something more productive with it.
One thing I've noticed is that if you get in with the right TGP, your traffic will continue for weeks after your last submission, at a lower rate, and the people who go deep into the archives seem to be more likely to join websites than the people who just look at the front page.
I have been do TGP galleries for a couple of years now.
I recently started doing submissions of galleries for gay sponsors.
With mainstream galleries I can get 2-300,000 unique vistors to the gallery and push 5000 or more visitors to my sponsors. That means good sales for me. Definately worth the couple of hours it takes to build and submit the gallery.
As far as bandwidth, hostings cheap. A single gallery shouldn'r cost more than a few dollars.
Link List are definately more productive, but not doing TGP submissions is just money not made.
I actually do very well with them. I make my money with a mix of tgps galleries and free sites and some weeks I get more sign ups from the tgps. Now I admit if your new to it it takes time to get a good list together and learn what works and what doesnt on a gallery but once you get the formula down you can make some decent money. Also great tools out there to help you out. I use G.A.S.S which puts all the recips on the galleries for you and then doesnt submit for you but has a neat tool that makes submiting much faster. There are several good gay tgps:

TGPs can make you money but there are a few things you MUST do:
1) submit every day and submit multiple galleries to sites that allow it
2) try to get partner accounts with sites that give you good traffic. This includes the list above. Partner accounts generally allow multiple submissions per day and get auto-approved.
3) get an auto submitter tool like GASS, Russian Submitter, etc. This will allow you to post your gallery to about 800-1000 tgp sites in a matter of 10 minutes and will save you heaps of time with their auto confirmer programs
4) get at least 15 gallery designs that are different and cycle through them so you only use one design every couple of weeks. Eventually you will want to aim for 30 to 60 unique designs.
5) get a high bandwidth dedicated server. If you are doing gay TGP galleries, expect to get between 60,000 and 100,000 unique visitors every day. If you get listed on thehun, that will double! Remember TGP traffic does not convert well...so its all about big numbers.
6) set up a system for yourself. Get photoshop and use their gallery creator to quickly compress your images and make your thumbs. Name all your pics/thumbs in the same format (eg pic01 to pic16) so making a new gallery is just a matter of swapping the thumbs & images. When buying new content break it up into as many "unique" sets as you can. Use the same number of thumbs per gallery (16 works well).
7) Save bandwidth by including at least 1/3 images that are clothed or softcore. Compress images to somewhere between 40-80k. Don't give away too much, give them incentive to join your sponsor.
TGP is not a "one-off and collect the cash" system, you have to be prepared to do this every day and deal with large traffic numbers. If you stop you will see your traffic decrease to almost nothing within a week.
cheers,
Luke
Great post Luke:groovy:
That's the game in a nutshell, Luke ... well said!
Luke:
Do you run a TGP? I seem to have better luck working with people that I've met here.
