REMASTERED CLASSIC “ADAM & YVES” NOW ON DVD!
2006 GayVN Nominee features legendary
Greta Garbo’s final screen appearance!
Chicago, IL – April 10, 2006 — Featuring visually lyrical sex scenes and a brief appearance by Oscar-nominee actress Greta Garbo (Anna Christie), the 1974 adult film classic Adam & Yves has been beautifully re-mastered and is now available on DVD from Bijou Video.
Praised by The Advocate for its “stunning effects,” the Hand in Hand studio pre-condom movie received GayVN’s nomination for 2006’s “Best Classic DVD Release”. Filmed on location, the gay love story takes us on a sexual odyssey from New York City’s exciting Eighth Avenue Strip to the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. Even without some of the hottest footage ever developed, Adam & Yves is a beautiful travelogue with gorgeous shots of the Park St. Cloud, the Café Flore on the Boulevard St. Germaine, and the Cocteau Chapel.
From director Peter de Rome (The Destroying Angel), the film follows the relationship of Adam (handsome Michael Hardwick) and Yves (sensual European Marcus Giovanni) as they meet and mate in the City of Lights. The pair act out private film fantasies in a game of love whose object is to discover which movie they are “playing.”
The first scene is an all-male re-enactment of the celebrated butter scene from Last Tango in Paris, right down to butter in the ass. Other sequences pay homage to Jean Cocteau’s Narcissus tale Blood of a Poet, the grape-dangling teasing in Queen Christina, and even ‘70s blaxploitation films as ex-boxer Geraldo (A Night at the Adonis) commands the attention of a roomful of horny studs in a no-holds-barred orgy you’ll watch over and over. This legendary scene received commentary by Fran Lebowitz in Andy Warhol’s Interview magazine when she stated, “It is definitely true that all black men have big cocks.”
Watch closely and you’ll see legendary actress Greta Garbo wearing a striped top during the baguette scene in her final screen appearance. The 2005 documentary Garbo, which aired on the Turner Classic Movies Channel, featured Garbo’s appearance in Adam & Yves.
Adam & Yves is 75 minutes long and is available for purchase on both VHS and DVD at www.bijouworld.com. For a review copy of the film, please contact Dan Gregory at Bijou Video at 312.337.3404 or email to catalog@BijouWorld.com.
