    Fahrenheit 9/11

Just got back from the theater... please go see it tonight! Buy your tickets online so you'll be sure to have a seat.

I saw the movie in Plano, TX (the heart of Bush country) and the audience was amazing... laughing and tsk-ing in all the right parts and with a nice round of applause at the end.

It was everything I hoped it would be and more... very eye-opening!

Then go to Blockbuster and rent, or better yet, buy Bowling For Columbine. Michael Moore is THE Most important filmaker of our time.

And for you skeptics, Mr. Moore rebutts all those who question his facts... check out http://www.michaelmoore.com/

Yeah, I saw it on Friday. They had a 9:11 PM showing, so we went to that. It was packed! People lined up around and outside of the theater.

It was interesting that a few Bush supporters showed up to see the movie, wearing their "W 04" stickers.

Excellent! I wonder how they felt about Bush after the movie? I don't imagine a lot of Bush supporters will see the film, but if they do, we will NOT have 4 more years of this shit!

    I'm conflicted on this movie.

I hate Michael Moore almost as much as I hate GWB.

    What ever shall I do?!

BD... why do you hate Moore? The man is a true American. Have you seen Bowling for Columbine or Roger and Me? Or is your hatred uninformed?

Btw, Moore is hardly in the film (he does narrate) but his visual presence is very limited.

I hate the fact that his pathologically paranoid and waves around threats of suing for libel and slander at every opportunity he's given.
I hate the fact that he tries to present himself as Mr. Everyday American when in actuality, every day he looks more and more like the corporate, government zombies he's pretending to be speaking out against.
I hate the fact that he passes his movies off as documentaries when they're edited and editorialized hack jobs that present his truth more often than the truth.
I hate that he has not a single ounce of modesty and his entire persona as presented through his movies is misleading, false and an outright lie.

I enjoyed Roger and Me. I enjoyed Bowling for Columbine. I'll probably enjoy Farenheit 911. But I enjoy them through treating them as slightly thought provoking entertainment. Not as fact. Not as truth. Not as unslanted and objective narrative. It disgusts me how the man tries to pass himself off as a journalist. I'd love his movies and the points he's trying to make were it not for the fact that throughout every second of each and everyone of them I can't help but be reminded of just what lengths the man is willing to go to in order to lie and twist the truth.

Even when he's presenting an argument I agree with or a point I support, it turns me off that he so underhandedly and dishonestly goes about it.

Have you ever seen the man get criticized in public? Get questioned or have someone disagree with him? In his movies he tries to be Mr. Nice Guy. But in real life, in news media interviews and public appearances he's a rabid, vicious, evil, egomaniacal, bitter, hostile man blind to just how corrupt he himself has become.

Michael Moore a la Michael Moore has some fun video. It's a site about a young film student chasing Michael Moore around the country trying to interview him for a movie and how Moore ignores, avoids, and threatens him with legal action. The tables are turned on Michael Moore and he becomes this snarling, ugly, ugly human being.

I really do think he's become everything he professes to be speaking out against. And he's as blindly corrupt, greedy, and deceitful as the people he exposes in his movies.

As I said, I despise GWB. So I'll probably get a kick out of the movie. But I refuse to glorify and deify Michael Moore and feed his inflated image of self. I don't like the man one bit.

Now THAT is good journalism! I wish that commentary could be read by millions! *huge applause* Thank you for having these intelligent thoughts of your own BDBionic! They seem so rare these days. You seem to have one of the best heads on your shoulders I've come across in a long, long time.

I will probably see the movie, but I agree 100% with bd, and chances are I will find it online, I don't want to give him a penny of my hard earned money!

As usual, BD is anything but uninformed! Where do you get the time? Lol!

Fyi, Mr. Moore has hired a team of fact checkers to refute all charges of misinformation and is prepared to take on all comers. If I was a filmaker in pursuit of the truth, I too would sue for slander to protect my integrity.

Sure, there is a lot of opinion in his films, but the feelings he stirs up in the viewers are for the greater good. And imo, he plays softball compared to the lying liars of the conservative media, ala Rush, Bill, Sean, etc.

Long live Mr. Moore... long live Mr. Franken! And to think not too long ago I thought Janeane Garofalo and Bill Maher should shut their mouths. Now I regret not being more skeptical and believing all the war hype. I will never be that stupid again!

Now Al Franken I quite like. I listen to the O'Franken factor and Air America as often as I can.

And I, like many others, think the Bush administration is the most corrupt and genuinely evil administration to occupy the White House in the long history of this nation.

I just wish there were a different, more worthy messenger of that point than Michael Moore.

If anyone should be paranoid right now, Mr Moore has the absolute right. And all the hype about the lies and deceptions in his films is overblown by the conservative media. Opinions are not lies... and just because his films are entertaining, doesn't mean that they don't contain "the awful truth".

I wonder if Penn Jillete isn't pissed off at how Mr. Wilson edited his interview, too.
