London, Dec 15 : 'Sodom', a play, which is the oldest surviving pornography printed in English, has been bought by an anonymous British collector for 45,600 pounds at an auction at Sotheby's of London.

"It makes pornography written over 300 years later seem tame," The Sun quoted Dr Peter Beal, Sotheby's book specialist, as saying.

'Sodom', supposedly authored by John Wilmot, 2nd Earl of Rochester, is believed to be the filthiest play ever. It was written in the 1670s and features non-stop raunchy sex in a satire on the court of Charles II.

The publisher of the porn was fined for lewdness and vulgarity. Only one copy of the play has survived. (ANI)
