Gay Marriage
A bit of a downturn in sales since the success of Gay marriage initiatives across the country.
I wonder if now that men (in particular for this connection) are in recognized, committed relationships, if porn is now more of a taboo than before marriage was legal?
I don't know if we can continue to give free Tube sites and blogs, and cam sites with shows that give away much too much, for way too long, to too many (a cam model can be naked and stroke for 2 hours, entertaining 1,000 viewers), before we look at other normalizing factors.
At least for married men who feel a bit guilty about getting off to raunchy hardcore stuff, I have half of my catalog as non-sexual male nude entertainment. A half a loaf is better than no boner.

SERIOUSLY? Men (gay or straight) will ALWAYS be men and love their porn, married or not!

maybe maybe not
But the world has changed, people have changed how they consume media. Netflix now accounts for over 30% of internet traffic in the evenings, Amazon Prime, Vevo, Youtube, Pandora are thriving. There's no reason why porn should be any different. We just don't have any service that has the mindshare of Netflix, though the tubes are grabbing most of the traffic nowadays.
From what I know many of the gay porn shops are running on fumes
Adult no longer dominates the web either. Someone did an analysis on sub-Reddit traffic and today NSFW is a barely a blip on the radar, where as 4-5-6 years ago it was one of the most trafficked parts on Reddit.

Pornhub seems to have had quite the traffic drop at the start of the year http://traffic.alexa.com/graph?w=340...&u=pornhub.com
From personal observation in the last three years or so I see people not torrenting, most have quit. Lots of invitations for chats on KIK, Skype, links to Cam4, GIFs on Tumblr. Lots of amateur stuff on Tumblr same with tubes.
It's not just porn either. I read the other day an article that talked about gay clubs dying off, some surviving on straight clientele that goes to watch drag shows. It's kind of true. The other day I was bored and check my fb friend's profiles the in thing today appears to be lots of restaurants and food places. One guy I know who was a regular bar hopper, has a boyfriend now, they go on vacations and hang out with friends. He said he quit gay clubs in 2011
So there's a shift, not just among gays or gay porn

I don't think it's because men are in gay marriages or civil partnerships because that actually affects a tiny number of gay men. For example in 2009 there were just 6,281 new same sex civil partnerships in the UK and 351 dissolutions (population 60 million). I'm certain there will be even fewer marriages because of the religious connection. But I think it's true that for a while now we've been heading in a more puritanical direction.
The other day I read that young people don't care about "brands" so much anymore. So maybe they're seeking out the amateur stuff. Swapping their own even... I find a lot of commercial gay porn unappealing these days. Formulaic and cynical, with ugly guys, and I know that in many cases there isn't the budget to do anything better.
