Launch a viral marketing campaign for something simple like a site with a bunch of rotating banners on it?
For example, a new search portal or joke / funny picture site?
Do you think starting up a viral marketing campaign from scratch would be hard to do or, easy if enough people jumped on board to help with it?
Your thoughts?
Im thinking this could make a great project for a bunch of us to play around with if there was enough interest in it.

I'm interested. I've been thinking ever since I launched Gay Porn Pig about things that I can do to get traffic. And actually a lot of virual marketing programs help your search engine rankings because a lot of times the marketing piece is a picture with a URL on it that the surfer needs to type in. A lot of surfers think they need to enter the URL into Google, they don't know they can use their address bar, when they do this, they inadvertently help boost your rankings by showing Google what they are looking for. Just read an article about this, it was quite interesting.
Anyway, I digress.

If we could come up with a well padded sugar daddy to cover hosting costs, we could do a site like youtube - but for porn .. sort of like the dating sites that let you upload pics but this would be video.
exactely where would the problem be?
make the user mandatory to register. you can then email them relevant consumer information... make the videos a litltle blurry and eventually they buy the video using micromoney or something like that
Instead of a search portal maybe you could try a wiki, something like the gay porn version of wikipedia. If as a side effect you ended up with the largest resource for information on the gay adult market online, I'm sure the traffic would pay off. I'd almost bet gaywidewiki.com is open :P
