I was wondering, when you are going to sign up for a new affiliate program, do you ask your friends/colleagues for a referral code before signing up so that you make them whatever percentage the program pays on your joins or, do you go direct to the affiliate program itself cutting out the referral process of others?
For me its a mix and it depends on the program.

Depends on the program more than anything. Besides, I have odd tastes, most of my friends don't push the stuff, they just buy it. :morning:
If I know someone is already signed up I'll ask for their link, or I see a coded link in a sig or post ... yes, I'll signup with it so they get the referral credit.
depends, but mostly yes.
If I know someone who already uses that program and I like him - of course! Thats a nice thing, he will be happy and maybe next time ask me :)
