As an affiliate who stumbles upon pirated content...
Hello!
First of all, I'm new to the forum. So I'll go ahead and extend my apologies if this is something that has been asked/answered in the past.
This question is extended towards the content creators and webmasters who put their sweat, effort, and money into producing content.
I belong to a fair number of Yahoo! Groups.
In recent months I've noticed a dramatic increase in the number of postings with Rapidshare-type links to download pirated content.
In many cases the files have had their names changed and/or there is little identifying information about the content.
Some people, however, are apparently so lazy that they don't even bother to disguise the fact that they are making pirated content available.
My question (finally!) is this: should I bother to notify the producers of the content when I stumble upon it? Do you care? Is there anything you can do about it? Is it an annoyance?
I don't mind spending 30 seconds to forward something on if it can be of assistance. I don't want to be a pest, though...
